People read shit like this and are delusional about how a relationship works in real life lmao. In reality, even if Hikari and Yuu are in a relationship after she confessed (let's pretend the whole fiasco with Yami didn't happen). They will probably break up after a few years when I go to uni.
You're ignoring that they're neighbors and Japan isn't the US where people are basically kicked out of their houses when they turn 18 and graduate from high school. Even if they go to different universities they would still be in touch regularly if they wished, just like they're still very close after going to different schools, if that's what you're implying.

What I would expect out of all this mess after what Hikari witnessed is a non-answer to Yuu's confession and gradually phasing them out of her life instead of committing to anything if they don't come out in the clear, because why would anyone?

I mean not necessarily? I know someone from high school as well as someone who my brother went to high school with who ended up marrying/engaged to there high-school sweethearts

It's all dependent on the relationship

yeah, guess that's not as bad

Still, we were in the Yami arc for like 6 months and then when we want answer they just keep teasing us loll

this series makes me have schrodinger's hate, where I hate all the characters and none of them at the same time because we don't have enough information on what is happening, and we get a major reveal like every 2 chapters
Yeah the pacing isn't the best for a biweekly manga that doesn't have a ton of pages imo

But then again I thought this dance was gonna last for a few chapters before anything major happened, and it only took one so maybe it won't be so bad from now on

...maybe

Just to clarify it's only 2 weeks not a month this chapter took so long because there was some sort of delay in production
Sadly there is another delay for the next chapter btw, so instead of coming out on the 28th next chapter will instead come out on the 5th of may now.
Tho after that they say it will be back to the regular bi-weekly update

Some people are saying he should’ve told her about Yami — boy, that’s not how you start a talk with someone you love.
it's shit to hidde this?for sure, but let's be honest, this is the worst way to try starting a relationship with someone you love
I also think he’s a dickhead for saying so much about loving Hikari and then going out with the first chicken in the streets, but sometimes people don’t think straight, they just go with the flow and deal with the shit later.
I just hope Hikari doesn’t end up with him.
Maybe it’s a me thing, cuz I don’t fear trying things out, but this whole “I’m not worth her, so why should I bother?” is such a nothing-burger and a self-lie to excuse yourself

However we do know that their relationship was pretty meaningful to Yami, that he continued to allow Yami to escalate their relationship without noticing neither how it was becoming more meaningful to her
Yami was explicitly playing the very stupid game of trying to keep it all light and cool - it's in her narrative how she walks back from showing him she's bothered or feels so strongly. Like yeah he doesn't win points for being emotionally immature, but he's also not a mindreader and his girl was actively putting on a front.

Apart of not being upfront to Hikari about the reason he left her in the festival, which is at most slimy, what shitty behaviour are we talking about exactly?
Not telling Hikari, who he was hanging out with all the time, about his then girlfriend Aya. Granted, I chalk it up to insecurity about his relationship w/ Aya, but I also think hiding the girl "he's falling in love w/" was a sign that the relationship wasn't as awesome as the Yuu/Aya fans were arguing.

I do agree it likely started to become meaningful to him by the end, but wasn't part of the reason Yami decided to ghost him that she felt like he wasn't going to move on from Hikari? maybe he would've eventually if she hadn't ghosted him as you are saying, however that's also an issue.
It's not explicitly stated but I think it's strongly implied by Aya being bothered by Hikari when they're together, comparing herself to an imaginary normal girl/normal dates (during the ghosting chapter), and being convinced he loves Hikari even a year later. Plus it would up the tragedy factor - Aya ghosting Yuu (in part) b/c she thinks he loves Hikari being what kills Yuu's love for Aya and pushes Hikari and Yuu together.

If you think about it from Yuu's perspective, depending on whether he's moved on (it HAS been a year or so since the whole Yami fiasco).

Imagine you are convinced you're going to be with somebody forever, and then they completely ghost you, just vanish into the night without so much as a goodbye. How would you feel? How do you think those feelings would look a year later? How would you feel if said person decided to kiss you after a year of radio silence?

As for me, I'd feel sad, confused, maybe devastated at first, I'd probably come to resent the person (especially if I never found out the whole story), and then if, after a whole ass year, they try to throw themselves at me, I'd be skeptical as hell!

In Yuu's situation, I'd feel strung along and/or used by Yami.

Considering how long Hikari had a crush on Yuu without any progress, it's quite possible Yuu was letting his heart heal after a Yami-shaped exit wound got torn out of it.

Yuu's liable to think Yami is only interested again now that he's about to confess to Hikari. In his shoes, I'd tell Yami to get bent. She's already shat the bed on this, and she can lie in it alone.

Ok i gonna say something it may sound crazy, what if yami wanted to get back with yuto and he rejected her which led to their discussion and the kiss, because it make no sense making him confess here to her
This is like The Most Obvious line of events.

Are people assuming that he's two-timing now? With someone he didn't know still existed ever since she disappeared on him?

People seem to kind of be forgetting this conveniently honestly

Teenagers DO NOT have there shit together or know how to properly deal with shit like this

We do have to have a little bit of understanding that this is the formative years of their lives this IS the time where they learn and mature

We shouldn't expect him to handle things perfectly what we should expect is for him to learn from it
Just because someone's young doesn't excuse them. Hes a very slimey guy and i don't like him, I ain't gonna excuse him because he's 16 the same way I don't excuse a 10 year old for doing bad things.

Yuu literally fucked Yami countless times while supposedly being "in love" with his childhood friend the whole time. What's to stop him from doing it again? Clearly love doesn't matter to him lmao.
But they call BS when I say this ☠️ people just want a morally questionable dude who only fucks another girl to be the main character. They don't give a fuck whether he's doing shitty things, they are just here for the drama. And that's so questionable, especially after knowing how the manga was developing until chapter 20ish 😐. How the fuck can you like Yuu? Genuinely. He's a piece of shit who tried to get over his crush with a girl he randomly met on the street while telling that exact chick how in love he is with his childhood friend. Like, what the fuck is this writing? 😭 And how can he be such a piece of shit? They call us stupid for thinking that it's definitely WRONG to go around fucking other people while you preach to them how in love you are with SOMEBODY ELSE.

I know this comment section is full of retarded people and we can see that everyday. I mean, there are Yami defenders. But damn, they really can't understand that fucking ANOTHER GIRL while preaching to her how much he ALREADY loves somebody else is SO. FUCKING. WRONG. Some people just don't deserve to EVER have partners.
