Feels rather relatable these daysThe world is run by morons.
Probably this. He just assumed that the hero's party would fall under his control, and he could use them to threaten everyone else. Ego and complacency make for a lethal combo.Charitable answer? He's a middling king who was able to bypass or ignore most issues due to the looming threat. Now that the threat is gone, he's fucked.
Yeah, I had thought the first story arc was going to be him running and the girl trying to find him.i guess he wasnt on the run but he got lured in by golem materials
He was the king during (assuming he didn't recently get the job because the last one died) a massive world shattering doomsday event, you'd think him and his kingdom would be gone if he was this incompetent.Maybe it's just how common it is in these stories, but I'm amazed at how completely unaware the king was of his situation.
I mean... even if the King and other nobility are greedy as fuck, you'd think that they'd be keeping an eye on anything that could affect their power base. Unless he got his crown later in life, he's probably been king for a while and you generally don't get to stay king without at least some awareness of your situation.
Charitable answer? He's a middling king who was able to bypass or ignore most issues due to the looming threat. Now that the threat is gone, he's fucked.
At least that part is realistic, the world has been dealing with that shit since the dawn of time.Less charitable answer? The world is run by morons.
Personally don't mind the pacing. There is only so many ways you can spin the introduction of the isekai. Most of which is overused and repetitive. Is it just me, or is the pacing horrendous? Story's intriguing, but holy crap, do they rush through like crazy.
So, unless there is something they're going to share later, I'm pretty sure this isn't an isekai.Personally don't mind the pacing. There is only so many ways you can spin the introduction of the isekai. Most of which is overused and repetitive.
I assune the author assumes that the audience does not want a generic introduction of isekai and get into the real story.
So long he slows down the pacing after this, I believe its fine.
Problem with generic introduction isekai is, you would lose alot of readers that way by boring them. And you can only reinvent the wheel so many times with an introduction.
You'll take your instantaneous harem demands shoved down your throat and like it, damnit!I understand wanting to quickly grab readers' attentions, which it did, but we still need to have some understanding of who these people are, what they can do, and why we should care if we're going to have to follow them
It's not isekai, trueSo, unless there is something they're going to share later, I'm pretty sure this isn't an isekai.
Maybe his kingdom was in the backline so they were not affected that muchHe was the king during (assuming he didn't recently get the job because the last one died) a massive world shattering doomsday event, you'd think him and his kingdom would be gone if he was this incompetent.
