If I remember correctly, Sanko only knows how to cook a meatball sandwich so it might be related to something later on. I bet there's more to it but let's be real here, Q gave a character to turn people into meatpies and another to turn people into mushrooms in Dorohedoro, some unknowingly cannibalism was bound to happen anyway.

Kinda funny as well that the two went to a food and shopping trip instead of searching more clues to help their quest while Shimada actually did more than this two.
