Nice, this angle is less flattering* than the ones shown in the LN but it's still cool to see our first look at the Black Lotus like this. I assume the next chapter will have some nice side views etc to show how good it looks. It's basically one big upgrade for Mei, therefore it's good. (ngl the WN kinda made me feel a bit conflicted when they started talking about getting rid of it already to buy an even bigger mothership they can park medium ships in, especially since it coincided with
the Krishna getting its nonsensical magical upgrade & Hiro's own nonsensical magical upgrade, it just felt like they were suddenly kicking the changes into high gear & we never even hear Mei's thoughts on replacing her highly-customized baby with something else, & even if they pull a similar level of customization on a bigger ship (read: absolutely bristling with weapons hidden under the armor) I bet they'll lose the EML in the process (since that's a fixed weapon & bigger ships turn slower) & that's just a shame. I always envisioned it with all of the detail the
Halo books (I was a teenager once too okay?) give their MAC cannons & I always thought those were way more badass than all the plasma and laser weapons in space series. It's like, sure, nerd; you can instantly superheat a spot of my armor with your lasers, but I can just delete you entirely with a car-sized chunk of metal hurtling at a speed that'd cause an ice age on any planet it accidentally hit, so I recommend you choose a safer career path in your next life...
*the front view makes it look totally square & not just blocky like dwarf ships are; it's a pretty long ship so it ends up looking decently sleek (though still rectangular) when viewed from basically any other angle lol
Primarily because it's a defensive, repair and cargo ship, not a battle oriented one.
*Primarily because it's a dwarf-designed ship & they just make shit blocky; the only reason the test ship with the "Limiter Cut" button was any different is because Wiska likes to get freaky when it comes to tech
Recently read volumes 10 & 11 of the LN, and 10 left me really pissed off. Can any WN reader confirm that Mary dies the horrible death she deserves given all the atrocities she's committed by aiding pirates? (rape, torture, noncon body mod, and murder of 1000s of civilians, terrorism etc)
[...] in the LN they stated it's 300m long.
I'm in the same boat as you, I recently went through the
WN (like, as recent as when the last chapter of the manga came out thanks to the kind folks here on mangadex) because waiting on the LN right after they introduced Kugi & wondering where the fuck they're going with that plotline. I'm glad I'm not the only one who seems utterly repulsed by that bitch, Hiro says he hates her but his reaction is way too muted for how horrible she is.
She's still alive ATM & hasn't shown up again, but they bring her up once in a while to make sure we don't forget about her & it feels like beating her is one of the bigger reasons Hiro gets psionic training in the first place so they won't end in a draw again like last time.
As for the Black Lotus' length, hopefully they stick with 300m like you said, because in the WN the author seemingly forgets & starts saying it's anywhere from 300 to 400m; I hope they don't bring mistakes like those into the "finished" version...
and wheres the dwarf threesome?
you & a lot of other people have their hopes way too high, it ain't happening for quite a while because Hiro can't get over their appearances. They're gonna be hitting on him for a looong time before he caves. (For that reason I'm personally hoping the manga sticks to making them look more like petite adults instead of alternating between them looking like preteens & them looking like adults with some degree of actual dwarfism like the LNs,
though it's not like they'll actually show anything anyway lol)
