Shouldn't their focus be more about getting rid of the bugs instead of whatever these queen factions, power struggle and interpersonal relationships are? they don't have to get along as friends so long as they can have decent coordination for an all out attack.

Towa's explanation explains some of it, though. They aren't really human anymore and their "insect's instincts" are taking over them. So they are always in-fighting because of that. The issue here is... Who is allowing this to happen? I can't buy there is no one else left but the butterflies.

We kinda need more worldbuilding. Too much stuff is unexplained.

I also would like to point out that faction infighting is a pretty darn human thing.

Hell,the Japanese military in all its' branches could barely function together before their surrender in '45.

Drunk on power,and addicted to it,they wish to maintain the status quo,expelling those who would change it.

But our lil' black beauty here has proven to be both more powerful but also in tune with her own self,a weapon of immense potential in the control of someone with a level head is their best combo yet.

Honestly, i expect we will getting more of the EX. I mean, We getting a flashback chapter in the Ex persertive showing she really love MC likely mean we aint done with her just yet, if she is just a stepping stone for the story as thing MC moved on, why would you show how good the old she was ?
Who know, maybe she grow a power to revived the old person who already awakened, because i don't think that expression in the cover is the new her at all

Honestly, i expect we will getting more of the EX. I mean, We getting a flashback chapter in the Ex persertive showing she really love MC likely mean we aint done with her just yet, if she is just a stepping stone for the story as thing MC moved on, why would you show how good the old she was ?

We've never seen her exactly "love" mc, we only saw them be close friends and then she suddenly started to treat mc like garbage, all the while worshipping towa, following by her essentially being unhappy when she saw mc survive the bug attack

We do already know this is a world where outside of this facility, nothing is left. the only surviving humans are in here, so even if the butterfly parasited girls are the only ones left they are still fighting for their own survival at least.

Though they can still nier automata over the loss of humanity in being turned into these butterfly hybrids.

The cover change concerns me but it’s not too surprising albeit I don’t think that would make a good pair in a like, serious/wholesome way. If they end up being toxic as shit it could work but they could also use a different character and keep this relationship antagonistic. The entire character arc for them was left clearly unfinished and while I get not wanting to see this again as long as it actually progresses beyond petty bullshit into something more substantial I’d be fine with it. If it becomes a main char can magically cure her situation I’m going to scream and that’s about the only situation that I’d dislike.
