… that reminded me of the time I wrote a short, dialogue-less stage play back in uni. It was written and prepped in less than a day as a challenge. The idea was to have the main character White, who would be influenced by the mood of the other colors (she would be consumed by the rage of Red, wail in the sorrow of Blue, and burst out laughing in the joy of Yellow), but she has to always be another color because White changes to whatever color touches her.

So when all the colors surround her at the same time, she lost herself, at least until she was finally touched by the one color no other colors could ever influence: Black.

I would like to point out how utterly unfair this fight is. Putting aside Reika's stupidity, all the other queens know there is no way Reika has a chance to fight and win against Ayumi (a queen). So what's the point? Towa's entertainment? If so, why are they then surprised Towa doesn't give a single shit about Reika going berserk??

The other queens were against it in the first place. It was Ayumi who agreed to the duel and Towa gace permission. The other queens in fact found it heretical to challenge a queen in the first place.

Do not forget that this is also Towa's faction so the other queens have no real authority in this area. If Towa says the duel is allowed it is allowed. If she says fight to the death that is going to happen. the only reason the other queens are even here is to watch Ayumi anyway

They also probably don’t expect even Towa would just watch in event that can endanger the colony for nothing.
Duel is one thing, but seeing them hastily evacuate their kin, the insect going out of control is obviously dangerous and crossing the line. It’s no longer just between the pair who are in duel.
