Well, I hope Ayumi got what she wanted out of this mess.

I really hope the series won't end next chapter.

Maybe it's just me, or the manga is just bad in that aspect, but the WEAKEST part of the manga so far has been the weird ass Reika obsession for visibly no reason whatsoever.. honestly hope she now dies off and Ayumi gets some actual character development starting to have her own actual thoughts, really feels like Reika as a character here is stalling any form of progression, it's 14 Chapters and it keeps portraying Reika as a character that's been around for 100 chapters, when we've seen her only as a villain so far so there's really no connection

Told y'all Reika was always an obsessive freak.

Anyway until we get information otherwise I'm assuming "resolution" refers to this arc or the fact we'll be caught up to the WN, and not the manga as a whole ending. It's unfortunately possible I'm wrong, but this feels like an extremely strange place to end things. We've just gotten a ton of lore drops and Ayumi finding a place in this messed up palace, and have tons more mysteries and plot setup to solve. It feels more like we're finishing the prologue, if anything.

Unless all this crazy lore has existed purely as a backdrop to drive Ayumi/Reika. God I hope that's not the case. Their 'romance' is the single weakest aspect of this entire manga.

So not just vol 1 ? with the new cover vol 2, No chance for other girl anymore, lamao
Turn out Reika is true heroine, the other girl just there as bait to let you think Reika is an Ex that suppose to moving on ?
Idk, hope that author intend, or else, Honestly the way mangaka handle Reika is just so ass. This make the MC development kinda all over the place and undermine some of the previous grow. And most reader probably have really bad impression with Reika by far

I would argue that Ayumi doesn't become who she is without Reika.

Ayumi trained and struggled and got as strong as she did because she was heartbroken over Reika's Change and subsequent shift in behavior and mindset, and ultimate rejection of her. It pushed Ayumi to greater and greater lengths, until she was put in a position that saw her Change, herself.
And, I would argue it was Ayumi's hatred of Towa, who Ayumi blamed for Reika's extreme shift in personality and as the reason for Ayumi "losing" the one closest to her, that caused Ayumi to become an entire new queen. That wouldn't have happened without Ayumi's despair over Reika as a catalyst.

I think this Reika was always meant to be "the other lead" of this, but Ayumi becoming a queen also means that there's a chance that no single girl is going to be some romantic counterpart. It might end up more as a "found family" situation, especially as Ayumi would seek to run her Brood differently from the others, most of all Towa.

I also think that the reader isn't supposed to like Reika, at least not at the moment. But I'm thinking she didn't die here, but suffered some form of ego death after succumbing to her Insect - and that if/when she wakes up and/or is healed and Changed by Ayumi, that would likely begin the process of reforming her character, possibly working through her underlying issues and character tensions like the possessiveness and craving of power / a place in the lives of others.

This was honestly an illuminating chapter, for how seemingly brief it was in terms of actual events playing out.
Reika's possessiveness and need for connection was always present, and she initially had latched onto Ayumi. She did love Ayumi, in a capacity, but it was that fear of being left behind that won out - so if the Insect amplifies the core "self" of the host, Reika becoming a zealot following her Queen with such ferver kind of makes sense.
She was "abandoned" in her mind by Ayumi at a pivotal moment of stress, Awakened, and her Insect's allegiance to Towa meant that all that possessiveness and desire for connection to someone who would make her stronger transferred over - and her frustrations at and hurt over Ayumi amplified in turn, becoming malice and contempt.

I fully believe Reika's not dead here - though it's probably akin to "ego death" or something (mentioned in previous chapter discussion posts, I believe), wherein her Insect has been ... I guess maybe put in stasis? If so, possibly to prevent it from consuming Reika any further. And then Ayumi will Dye Reika into her own Brood, and the healing process would begin from there.

No clue what happens to Reika at that point; if there's any of "her" left in there, it might be mere fragments, depending on how much of the Insect consumed of her. Clearly enough to recognize Ayumi, but that's not really saying anything.

I did initially take "resolution" to mean of the arc and not the story - I feel like the word would be "Conclusion" at that point. I'm very much hoping I'm correct, because there is so much more to be done here, even if we never see humanity successfully drive back the Bug Apocalypse.
But as weirdly tense and "inconclusive" as this chapter was, I think I like the direction it went, as far as solidifying Reika and Ayumi's situation a bit more and setting up whatever transpires for them next (vague as it may be).

Thanks for the continued TL work on this series. I very much hope there's many months more in store.

Resolution next chapter? RESOLUTION NEXT CHAPTER??? This will end like the WN? Don't do this to me... Another of my favorite yuri mangas axed???
It might not be axed if it covers the whole WN. There was no promise that it would make up new content.

It says the resolution is next chapter. I'm assuming that means the series end, like in the WN? So far, this seems to have followed it.
If it ended just like that after all that good world building i'd just be seriously??? I mean we already lost Cosmic Twinstar Runaways.
