"Turner's first person pronoun is... 'me'?"

I think something got lost in translation, there.
She used the feminine version of "I" specifically "watashi" . In Japanese there is multiple version of "I " depending on who is speaking, the setting and to whom they are speaking to. Boys(and boyish girl) uses "boku". girls commonly uses "watashi" .

The sentence is "watashi?? Taanaa no ichininsho te watashi no? ( I (feminine)???? Taanaa's first person pronoun is I(feminine) ?

So by that we can see why he is surprised and this is the instance that he suspect that he have done a big nono .

Ah, yes. The classic "boku boy" who in the end was actually a girl. And its expected reaction...

Bro in the moment I saw the panels of the big wolf being broken, twisted, and finally minced by the 🌪️. I was thinking that was overly creepy, too OP

(You know the strong winds can cut or push away hard, you need something more dangerous or nasty to add other effects)

I mean she was pretty hard to tell and REN never actually said her pronouns to where she could correct him and her hair is pretty short giving an illusion of a boy.

There is also he is a modern adult who more likely view his interaction with them merely babysitting. I doubt he would go out of his way to learn everything about them.

I wonder if she was using "boku" in chapter 2. That might also be part of the misunderstanding.

Woah, that tornado magic was like a blender. I can't imagine that was an efficient way of using the magic. I understand why he's used it instead of engaging in close combat even though he can literally blast off a wolf's head with his hand through magic enhancement; it's one thing to do a surprise attack from a blind spot, it's another to fight in close combat while outnumbered.

From the previous chapters, I wouldn't have assumed that Turner was a girl. In this chapter, the depiction of Turner looked a bit feminine on page 2 so I guess they were already trying to hint at Turner's gender then and the reveal was less of a surprise for me.
