Considering the flow... I doubt theyre gonna do that quickly like thats the whole chunk of probably the story...

Id imagine they have so much love for Cross, like they have an idealistic version of him, that they wont accept demon cross... Like "your just a fake made to decieve us" or " how dare you make mock cross by transforming his body into this"

Which is in line with the theme as they never really see him as he is. He was always seen as this super cool guy when if anything. He is just a very normal person.

I think it would have actually been a bit more dramatic if he reincarnated and could see the devastation of his friends' actions against the monsters, and reframing them as the villains, despite revenging him, after having defeated the demon king...
