Shadow Knight: "You shouldn't reveal your trump card until the very end."

MC: pulls UNO reverse card "No u"

But seriously, stop with these continuous comeuppances! Let this motherfucking monster die, let MC have some peace of mind and rest getting a lap-pillow from Eldora, let the previous party get their fill of shame and punishment/getting off free only getting "ignored from now on", and let whatever entity is possessing Axe Dude (possibly a dragon) to continue with their unclear plotting!

I think we all know Dion is faking it, and this super boss just took the bait... but will the next move finally end this damn arc?

It's the same shit over and over again since chapter 24. That's a 1/4th of the currently released chapters wasted on this. What a joke.

Strawberry "Long-Cake" Recipe

Ingredients
For the Strawberries:
  • 1 quart strawberries, washed, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice from one lemon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

For the Cake:
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) sifted all purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 5 1/3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla

For the Topping:
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Directions
1. Set rack to the middle position and preheat oven to 400°F. Add sliced strawberries to a medium bowl. Sprinkle with lemon juice then top with sugar. Set aside.

2. In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together sugar and butter. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla until just incorporated

3. Spread out dough in the bottom of a 8 x 12-inch baking pan. Pour the strawberries and juice on top of the dough. Cream together the butter, sugars and flour for the topping and sprinkle over the strawberries. Bake until the top is golden brown and a cake tester comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm, with whipped cream, if desired.

"Exhaustion," a fitting title for how long this saga/fight/whatever has been dragged out for.

C'mon author, some of us came here for boobs w/ nipples! Give us more of that!

This fight reads like those playground battles you had as a kid, when it was just a constant one-up contest. After a while, it becomes absurd and annoying.

Man. I kinda fucking love this? I don't understand why people are complaining about Dion finally having his moment to shine without the aid of any of his waifu's. There is also the fact that he has to push it this far because of the severity of the opponent and his own lack of offensive training. An opponent that before this fight shouldn't have existed cause it defied the logic of the world. I am personally eager to see what dion pushing himself beyond his limits does to him, particularly because we have gotten subtle foreshadowing that its dangerous for him to do precisely this, cause the dragon blood could "over take him" whatever that means. I wanna see the consequences of this fight going forward.
The problem is a lack of setup in getting to this point. Maybe it's set up better in the novel but definitely not in the manga. The inferiority complex he is showing in this chapter comes out of almost nowhere and is completely unwarranted. A smart warrior would know working together is better than a very high chance of dying. At this stage of the fight, it's no longer showcasing heroic tenacity and will- it's just showcasing dumb machoism.

Oh dude this was such an amazing chapter...where absolutely nothing happened
Well two things happened if you boil it down.

Dion got played.
Dion learned from getting played.

He knows the Knight is waiting till he's exhausted, so my bet is Dion is baiting him with the "I'm exhausted now" but he still has enough juice to launch his trump card one more time.

If the fight is trying to showcase Dion's growth and overcoming obstacles.... it's not doing a good job at it. He's already proven that he is far more powerful than his former teammates and his childhood friend, why does he need to fight this solo? It's not like he has any personal history or grudge with this enemy, what's wrong with working with his waifu to take it down in a life or death situation? The only thing this is doing is making him out to be an unlikeable stubborn meathead.
If you're looking at a high level, you're absolutely right. But insecurities are deeper than "I'm insecure because Gary said I suck, so if I beat Gary I won't be insecure anymore!"

Dion said "If I stop here, while being looked down on, my blood will never stop boiling" which, when translated from Edgelord into English, is: "If I give up now, while being looked down on, I'll never grow past this."

He's been beaten down and trampled on until he had little self-esteem left. He's finally starting to believe in himself and ran into an opponent who is looking down on him the way his tormentors did, triggering a trauma response. He believes that he needs to beat this guy on his own or everything everyone said about him will be true (which, it's not. As you pointed out, he's already more than proven himself to everyone... everyone but himself, and no one is a harsher critic about you than you)
