Nope. Jiji is gonna be the one to hit wit the hammer or get to kiss Momo because true love will be needed when the time comes. Jiji was supposed to be the love interest but Tatsu took a dive. I believe he’s going to start developing it now. Honestly Jiji and Momo is way better than Okarun and Momo. Okarun and Momo feels forced.
Well, if that is what supposed to be, it's gonna be a Downer for sure. But what you use here could be use the other wise no?
You say true love needed when time comes, i guess for turning momo back to normal, so one could argue that when jiji try to fill the role, it doesn't work. Hence, it could be used to further established okarun and momo relationship further, just as it always had been. Or it could work, and make okarun insecure and end up put a strained on their relationship, and finally after long and aeduous journey, they reaffirmed their feelings and comes back together.
Remember, the editor of dandadan forced the author to read a bunch of romance manga just to make sure that the romance is doing justice. So, i am pretty sure and have Faith that the series would have satisfying conclusion.
Sure, people free to have their own ships of the characters, but the author takes a long time, basically hundreds of chapter to established Momo and okarun relationship by now, and to suddenly make jiji as a love interest after all those efforts Will basically a suicide. I couldn't imagine the uproar would become lol.
The relationship between Momo and okarun sure a Rocky one, with a lot of drama and hindrances, both from other characters, the villain, or even their own clashing personalities, that prevent them of being together. You think, after all those build up author gonna suddenly pull Devils part timer and cheap subversion after blue balling the reader for hundreds of chapter?
At the end of the day, jiji's role is as the rival or okarun, the one basically the complete opposite of him, one of the obstacles he need to take for his relationship to work out. People can speculate or they want, but i am sure he's (jiji) is not meant to be the end game from the beginning. At the end of the day, it just something that both Momo and okarun would overcome. But for now, nobody knows what would happen in the future, if it goes the way you say, i am sure a lot of people would drop the series, and it definitely going to be a bummer for me. But for now, i doubt it would happen, i have a Faith on the author, and especially the editor, that the series would give okarun and momo relationship a satisfying conclusion.
