Well that answered my question as to why he didn't tame any other monsters until now. A highly strict slot limit compared to the usual tamer manga where they can tame however many they want.
Or just have a stupidly high taming capacity. Like that one manga, Isekai Monster Breeder, where he had the capacity to immediately capture a goddess and had a tame limit of like 1,000 or something.

But, anyway, if R/Lest in the game only had 5 monsters tamed and was a mid-game boss, it makes me wonder: how linearly does his slot limit increase? Or, rather, how slowly does he gain them?

Like, in D&D, full spellcasters gain a new spell slot level every other level (so 1st, 3rd, 5th, etc.); meanwhile, half casters get them every 4th level (1st, 5th, 9th), and the couple third casters get them every 6th level (mostly; they get their first at 3rd level, since that's when subclasses are taken, then 7th, 13th, and 19th).

You'd think the marquis would do a 180 and try to cajole his other, more promising son, but instead he just huffed and puffed and walked away.
I'll never understand why writers prefer to make their nobles petty instead of actually opportunistic.

Well for one thing, it’s kinda hard to do 180 after treating your son terribly for so many years. Unless he’s an idiot, he’s gonna know that you being nice is just an act

and second, mc is still the son of a concubine so even if he’s powerful, he can’t really elevate him without upsetting his wife and whatever noble family she comes from.

I was very glad they answered that. I tried to defend his decision, not to tame 1000 monsters immediately a few chapters back, but even I was wondering if that was just bad writing lol

Also, it looks like he’s going after a dragon for his second take. And if in the game, he already had five, while only being mid-level, that means he’s gonna get at least three more that are stronger than a dragon. Wonder if they’ll go really insane and just give him God. Let him tame a God and see what happens. Of course, as we all know, at least one of those monsters will be able to turn into a girl And probably a loli

I mean, there are cases where both parties would go "I know it's an act, you know it's an act, but we can both pretend for our mutual benefit". Of course, there are some nobles that are written like they actually believe the child would be thankful for the sudden 180 or not suspect anything is amiss, but even that is something you rarely see. It's mostly "Damn you child I didn't bet on, why did you have to be the winning bet?"

Where can I find the group? Are they still 1 chapter ahead?

Philiascans are the ones who published their chapters, a quick oogle search will show you their website, I don't know why I don't see them here anymore, but they are on pirate sites.
both are at ch12 i think...
The thing is...Both have chapters behind paywalls. The difference is in the translation, one is clearly better.

Just look at the quick MTLs or quickly cleaned up MTL assisted translations as mostly just a preview of what's to come.

In any case. So he can step into his own extra-dimensional skill based world. Guess he has an escape route and a camp site for safety. If he can make a farm in there and build a house, he's set wherever he needs to be. And if he ever becomes captured or jailed, he better make use of that to momentarily escape and confuse the hell out of his jailers.

Sometimes it does happen in real life. it doesn't matter HOW much that unwanted child is doing well. they will still be ignored by their parents and they do focus instead on their golden kids.(in his case his selfish brothers)
so i can see it being realistic sadly.
