This one is a no from me. I get that there's a chance that the stone was controlling him to push him over the edge to hate otherworlders, but the queen doesn't know that. He tortured and enslaved people and it's just swept under the rug because he did it all for love? His sins still outweigh the good he did in the end. You don't have to tell people he was the monster but you also don't have to tell people he was the hero of the day when he was not at all.
