People getting mad that Yuu didn't immediately confess his love for Hikari or confess to Hikari about Yami are ignoring one of the key components of Yuu. He hesitates constantly. He doesn't commit to something crucial unless he feels he's at or near 100%.

Not mad at Yuu cause yes that's his characterization and not ignoring it, just think Hikari is justified in calling him a coward.

Eta: Also Yuu confessing cause Aya told him to then seems like an act of cowardice where Aya is who he wants but she's now the one setting him up w/ other girls. (Eta2 and is how I figure the author can get to an Aya/Yuu endgame).

If confessing is so easy, what stopped Hikari from managing it for five months?
Neither she nor Yuu can succeed at a confession 'til the climax b/c plot so cowardice has to be evaluated on attempts, which in this convo both her and Yuu acknowledge she made many of and he waited until he was almost 100% certain. But also she can think she's been a coward and also call him out for being more of a coward given 10 yrs >> 5 months and part of what gave him courage were her attempts to confess.

You're joking, right? Because this chapter's WN version being uploaded by mistake last week confirms that it's the other way round. The WN chapter was ready by last week's monday, yet Yom couldn't make it in time, and this was going on for at least 2 consequent chapters.
well you see the chapter was ready last week, yom then starts to draw the chapter, those shit can take a week or couple of days,if the novel doesnt go faster then Yom cant start drawing, just because a new novel chapter came out a week ago doesnt mean the manga chapter will be ready.

Going by how other creators have described the adaptation process, Yom is probably working off a draft/outline w/ the key bits/etc. but also like a few weeks late is nothing given how many creators go on indefinite hiatus from burnout, especially for a manga they've been putting out for free.

Someone reminded me this exists.

Well, that was definitely a development and if things come out now Yami is guaranteed to learn about it as the two friends are watching it from the sides, so no chance of her getting blindsided unless Hikari hides things here too.
Adults also get mad when their partner is lying to them, hiding stuff from them, or being a coward. Even Yuu thinks he's being the worst in his narrative.
By this point people preaching about "adults relationships" are more delusional than the people harping about whatever is going on in this manga.

A few years working in an middle to large office and you will see all kind of shit that would make high schoolers feel chills down their spines because god damn, people can get so fucking petty and scheming, then defusing things can take years and by that point enough damage was done. At least high school only lasts three years (four if you're Yami lmao)

Can't tell if you're agreeing or calling out my post.

try multiple external orgs and/or governing bodies :/

I swiped a webtoon review "%60 miscommunication, 40% no communication" for a laptop sticker b/c it was applying to way too many corners of my life. Which like talk-no-jitsu is the resolution to so many conflicts precisely because communication is so difficult.

rlly hope she just explains instead of just leaving him confused. i'm curious about what he's gonna do to gain her trust again but in the end it's not something that easy for Hikari to forgive. i know high school me wouldn't! unless there's a time skip or something idk

Agreeing.

Some people have this delusion that "adults" are these mythical beings people become after reaching some enlightenment capable of flawless communication that can work through anything and life is all good after that. Reality is that the main difference between a teenager and the adult is the scale of shit that can happen and many times not having a safety net to fall back on, but some teenagers don't have that too so...

Yup like the biggest difference between the average teen relationship and the average adult one is probably that the stakes tend to be higher for adults (e.g. financial entanglements or dependent on a partner for housing or citizenship or there are kids involved or pressure to marry or the like) and occasionally the adults involved have had enough experience to flag that they should talk sooner rather than later.

So you weren't joking...
And when the novel chapter and manga chapter come out simultaneously as usual, does that mean Yom finishes the chapter in a flash?

The thing is, I've never been a very forgiving person—and that only got worse after I earned myself a pair of horns. (In my country, that's what we say when someone gets cheated on.) So yeah, I have a strong personal bias against any kind of betrayal, and that definitely shows in what I wrote in “My Verdict.” I get where you guys are coming from, but I think we'll just have to agree to disagree.
Oh i am so sorry that happen to you, and you have got my full sympathy.

But yeah considering what you just said, we will never be able to see the same page for this topic and as you said, we will just have to agree to disagree.

Yuu confessing to Hikari only because he was told to by Yami wouldnt make sense to me. Granted, i can see a scenario where Yami does tell Yuu that Hikari likes him or something along those lines, but i just cant see Yami outright tell Yuu to confess to Hikari.

Its been discussed in prev chapter threads before, but i think "Yami going for the kiss cause she want to be back together with Yuu but Yuu reject her and decide he wanted to confess to Hikari, instead of going with the flow again like we have seen him do previously" is a more likely scenario than Yami telling Yuu to confess to Hikari.
