It would make more sense, to give her a polite “thanks, but no thanks” and safely send her back, they also have a legit excuse by saying it is for her own safety because of the recent incident.
And politically she is just a landmine with respect to one of Wendelin’s biggest noble backer.

Also what she is offering is an introduction to a merchant… why the heck would they trust a merchant introduced by someone from an opposing faction.
Outside of that aspect, she is only welcomed because she is apparently cute and looks like the MC’s ex, which is just bonkers and illogical in terms of territory management and politics.
