pathetic incel manga got the axe it deserved
Not much of a benchmark exactly since it's so much more wildly successful than most of its contemporaries, but I think Apothecary Diaries gives an idea of what it takes to let a manga adaptation of an LN walk on its own feet.Alr, I'll give. I have been looking for smth new to pick up so I guess I'll read the LN lol. I refuse to buy it tho. How dare these publishers give this peak fiction the axe.
Is this course of action a lil misguided tho? Have there been instances of manga adapations being successful enough that they break away from the original plan of being doomed to just be ads? Had this manga been supported from the get go (via having good sales) would it have been saved?
I swear, it would be SOOOO much better if it ended like "Hey Shijoin-san? Would you like to go to a coffee shop with me Saturday?"We REALLY need a way to tag these types of incomplete novel adaptation stories. Either cause they are ads, or cause they skipped parts of the original story in the manga version like this one does.
But doing so would be hard to do, cause some of these manga hide that they are not the full novel story until the very end when it slaps you with a surprise "BUY THE NOVEL TO CONTINUE" ending.
I don't know what it would be called; "Partial Adaptation" ?
