Or it could be the dialogue bubble actually points to the daughter instead.

Nah you guys are right. I went back and looked at the dialogue and it is from the dad's perspective, I will fix this soon. Guess this is what happens when you work on TL late at night.

I understand your point (my country do that too), but the issue will still stand for the word 'my'. If it's 'Of course, mother would like that', it'll fall under the case you mentioned; with 'my' it can only means his mother and nothing else.
