wait, absent character? who's that?
I think, maybe it's just me pondering too deeply, but to me it feels like that this isn't the first time something like this happened. Not exactly like this, but some kind of incident of other lower aristocrats approaching her to make use of her and then her fiancé taking care of things ruthlessly, though behind the scenes instead of openly like this. FMC might actually be much more insightful and been very aware of what her "friend" was up to, but was willing to avoid facing the truth to keep some kind of friendship active.So...did our "villainess" get told about the plot or not? Since she didn't lift a finger to save her bestie, but also complained about losing her friend.
Isn't that the case for many of these? She's not technically even a villainess!
oh ok, must have missed that...No. They're childhood friends just like the FL and hercrazy yandere stalker dudefiance. And are supposed to be engaged/betrothed. That's why the FL is so concerned about him hitting on her: he's supposed to be engaged to her friend.
Well the ML did drug them with a strong aphrodisiac and then locked them in a cell together. socially, I imagine there’s some consequences to that so their reputations are gonna be even more ruined. Also, feels a bit like rape but in a roundabout wayMore tame than how it built itself up but was a nice direction none the less
He also said “you should thank me this time” so I’m guessing he’s scared off a lot of her friends and guys who wanted to date her over the yearsSo did she know the whole time and just wanted someone to talk to or what? She said "another" like this was a regular occurrence for her.
They’re fiancés, not relatedpersonally i would have made it so that the love potion made the brother and sister fall in love making them social disgrace and kicked out of their house.
Yeah would love to see that as well, despite logically making her more sympathic, because of bias, people blame HER the bias being since she's higher nobility, it's painted as though she is the one playing around with the lives of lower nobility like easy targets when it's them bringing their bad ends on themselves (as you said, she let them freely take advantage of her till they bit her hand, but since that detail is usually private, it comes off as HER exploiting the "discarded friend" even though if one's inquisitive enough, they'd have noticed the truth of it, hell the one discarded gets off abit lucky if one thinks on it more as its "the villainess" taking the hit REP wise)Interesting art style, especially when things got intense. Not exactly the most original plot, but it was a fun read nonetheless. It is nice when the characters actually dish out punishment and justice immediately, when they are in a position to do so, instead of dragging and muddying things for 20-40 chapters for no reason except bloat.

Would be refreshing to read some aristocrat story, where the MC is very aware that good chunk of her "friends" are just using her, but likewise she is using them to "fill her empty life" and whenever they would step out of line, she'd quickly deal with them, truly earning her the title of "villainess". Maybe bit too sociopathic, but then again a villainess version of the business card scene would be glorious.
