@ngungbi I vote for keeping the original name order; my own biases aside, since the story jumps between Japan and the fantasy world regularly, it helps highlight that.
Thanks for the feedback

I slightly prefer merged chapter but am fine with whatever you want to do.
Thanks for the feedback

On smaller mobile screens I find double page layout a bit difficult to read.
That's fine, it's just a recommendation for double-page user, no need to follow it

I'm somewhat confused.
Wasn't it mentioned or translated earlier that the time period he came to through the gate was in the Showa Era?
That's like pre-2000. No smartphone. Etc. Mistranslation or am I getting something wrong? :wtf:

Good that this one isn't part of the dmcas.

In chapter 2.2 he says that he died 20 years ago, but his base feels like it's from the Showa era so it doesn't feel like much time has passed.

So if you flip back to chapter 1 you can see that the place he ended up in Japan is some small rural village where there are only old people.

Assuming it's 2024 in the manga's Japan (since that's when it was first published) that means the MC died in 2004. Which does predate the iphone so that part at least makes sense.

This panel bugs me, he wouldn't know what 4K was, if he was from 2004 he would have gone with 720p or maybe 1080p. Hell, I only had a standard definition TV in 2004, I didn't even get an HDTV until 2007 (720p DLP, that's the kind with the massive back panel for the rear-projection bulb)
mitsubishi.190.jpg

the highest resolution you could get on most consumer grade TVs at the time was 1080p, you wouldn't start seeing 4k around until 2013.

Yeah the manga's a little fuzzy about the timeline.

Though it's possible he only heard about 4K from one of the elderly villagers in a "my grandkids are all about this 4K thing now days" so he's wondering if what he's seeing is the same thing.

maybe someone mentioned to him 4k somewhere. Maybe it is mentioned in the novel. someone that read it will probably mention it.

or maybe it's a translation mistake?

edit: I just looked up the raws, used image to text, and looked it up. It is a translation mistake. when i looked it up, that text bouble translated to (this is yonke) and then i found a Japanese article about TVs, and it had the same word in parenthesis. this is how the text on the site translated. [It's not too late to ask. what is "4k (yon-ke/For-ke)"] it basically is saying (one K) with Japanese words, and inside these parenthesis it says (one k/ four k) that probably means that the translation is wrong and it actually says one k, or 1080

edit2: I made a mistake. it does mean 4k, check the comments bellow.

It's really interesting how they handle this father daughter reunion. I like the concept overall.

Can you share the article?
I tried searching for ヨンケ, but I only got idol groups instead...

Edit: oh I missed a character. Should be ヨンケー. According to Google AI, it does mean 4K video.
So, he probably just heard a lot about 4K.

while ai is good for a lot of things, it can't tell that, how something sounds is sometimes the meaning. just like 木住まい明日. especially because there is no explanation on the internet.

any way here is the link. https://hardwares.hatenablog.jp/ent...1Hr3sc3Rz6jDB1htOh_aem_RDjlgmrBTsYEpIzSNSNT_A

edit: if you don't understand what i mean with the 木住まい明日 then put it in google translate, and listen how it pronounces it.

probably because of Akira's explanation too (page 23)

"This phone is capable to record 4K video..." or something like that

the title of this article says ヨンケー and フォーケー are the other names of 4K in Japan
also, in the first paragraph, it says, "In Japan, it is also known as 'yonkee'..."

and if we're talking about the word "one" in Japan, it becomes "wan",
here's an example "wanman" (ワンマン)
