Chiyo probably has some amazing lore. Judging by how the "YEARS" on her cupid age seem to have an extra space, she's at least a century old. Then there's the wallpaper image a few pages later that has Chiyo, as a cupid (white hair, red eyes, cupid wing motif on her bow), wielding a cupids classic bow and arrow instead of the guns and grenades of more modern times.

I want to say that Chiyo and Ena died a long time ago, but not that long ago. Probably around the world wars, when cupids were still using arrows but saw that humans made faster and much more efficient alternatives so they switched weapons.

Chiyo is also in a snowy climate in that old photo of hers. So maybe Chiyo is from up north? Hokkaido?

Kinda goes with the theory that she was mooching off Koharu's love predictions. Just a young inexperienced cupid doing the bare minimum. My additional theory is that Kanna refused to shoot Koharu so that she would not get distracted and continue to feed her targets.

Depends upon what effect the rights-holders expect.

The cost to rights-holders is that some people substitute the bootlegged scans and scanlations for purchases. The benefit to rights-holders is that some people are attracted by the bootlegged scans and scanlations, and buy licensed copies.

(Unlike trademarks, copyrights don't have to be actively defended to remain.)

Right now, the rights-holders almost surely see that the benefits from the bootlegged scanlations exceed the costs. (Purchases of volume 1 from outside of Japan surged because of these scanlations. An English-language publisher sought a license after watching those sales and being contacted by readers of these scanlations.) So long as that perception continues, these scanlations won't get takedown demands.

Ena maybe, but Chiyo is likely much older, the text blatantly implies a 3 digit age, and it is unlikely cupids simply made a jump from bows and arrows to modern automactic weapons. More likely cupid weapons evolved alongside real life weaponry, which would put Chiyo at least 1 and half centuries old (when Japan was forced to open itself to western technology), likely even more than that.

Alright ladies and gents, I would like to bring up some points of interest. I posted two photos here: one of Chiyo's past and the other is the first page of the oneshot. There are uncanny similarities to these two girls. What I think is that Chiyo is a girl from the Taisho era. Why? For starters, I don't think I've seen a manga or anime that was gone waayy back in time past 1900s (unless for a very special reason) and secondly Chiyo is skilled and knowledgeable about guns based on how she taught Koharu and her fight with Ena. You might be thinking that's a stretch and the hair is different. Here's a question: why is her hair longer? If Chiyo has lived for more than 100 years as a cupid, she would've cut her hair at one point. She is a girl after all. From the oneshot page and the art, her hair is long even in a ponytail (seems to reach the ground). At some point she cut her hair. If you look back in the manga, current Chiyo's hair is about to her waist.

In summary, I believe Chiyo is a girl who died in the taisho era. She used bow and arrows as her first weapons until the turn of the century when modern gunfare became a thing. So in order its Chiyo, then Ena (most likely died around WW2, during or after), then Kanna (died around late 80s to 90s based on her limited knowledge but knows the basics), then our girl Koharu.

(Also we assume it Chiyo in that snowy picture. I looked through inee's twitter and can't seem to find that is indeed Chiyo. I did find the original concept was Chiyo, Kanna, and another girl were the main and Koharu and Ena never existed. If there's more info, please feel free to say.)

Well, we have some confirmation that Chiyo has been a cupid for at least 100 years: her cupid age is the only one that doesn't line up with their age at death. The bow cupid also looks like her.

There are two images in which a cupid has green eyes. There's Koharu, and there's Kanna. It's implied by Koharu's picture that green eyes are another state of being for cupids: I wonder if it's supposed to represent envy (隣りの芝生は青い, as well as green's symbolizing of envy in English). Or, is it another ability?

Anyways, I hope something gets worked out between the scanlators and the rights holders. You guys have been putting in so much effort and clearly love the work; it would be a shame if the scans get taken down. At the same time, I don't see how the scans could continue for the course of the manga's existence now that it has been licensed.

Pre-orders are officially LIVE and will be released on November 25th!

Volume 1 in Japan has only gotten a single reprint so far, meaning that it's not guaranteed that Love Bullet will be OKed to go past Volume 3. However, if we blow away the publisher's expectations for the pre-order numbers for Volume 1 in English, they could decide to let the story go past Volume 3 before Volume 2 even comes out!!

I wonder what's up with the green eyes on the 'censored' Koharu pic, and on that Kanna pic? Some new unrevealed aspect of cupidhood? Something to do with envy or jealousy, since being "green-eyed" means to be envious. Or is it some sort of "evil-eye" curse, looking at the warning symbol on the "censor bar"? (evil eyes are very much linked to jealousy as well)
