The editor should have rejected the storyboard.
I just had to check out of curiosity. It's Dungeon Harem Master all over again. And what was up with the change in POV/narrator on page 22?

And superhuman hearing = powerful mage has got to be the wildest leap in logic I've encountered when it comes to the "useless" skill trope. If knowing the incantation is all it takes to be able to cast magic, then wouldn't that make this schmuck comparatively weaker than, well, everyone? And if it takes more than just knowing the incantation to be able to cast magic, then wouldn't that make this guy, well, actually talented? And all that is not even considering how simply being able to hear any sound from anywhere in the world is broken AF.

On one hand, this is absolute garbage. The entire torture sub-plot even exists for no reason.
It said his ability advanced before he was even beaten by his father. So why did he just sit there for ten years being willingly stabbed and shit? This is so dumb. He's also spent his entire life listening and experiencing the world vicariously, yet he has zero common sense? It's an absolute dumpster fire.
On the other hand, boobs.

so instead of listen to his mother wish and try to get along with his father, he decided to hide his power for no real reason until his father gave up on him then show it off...
of course the day he went out is also when the princess under attack so he can save her.

"The mage who was constantly called incompetent was actually the world's strongest but was unaware of it due to being confined" I feel like the title of every new LN adaptation nowadays is a version of this goofy ass long sentence

Well yes.... Because it's Copium for the large market of frustrated self-inserts that exists.

Just a variation of the Romance Novel. Which, let's be fair, aren't exactly known for their literary quality or originality, but are one of the few dead-tree formats that are still published monthly. As full novels. In bulk....

MC has super hearing. Eventually upgrades his Super Hearing to the point where he learns magic just by hearing of the magic. He's in an isolated tower in the middle of fuck all nowhere. Likely he is listening to magic being discussed in faraway towns, maybe even wizard towers isolated from society. Basically he's listening in on at least a general country wide area to learn all sorts of magic. But he describes it himself as The World.

Somehow did not listen in on all sorts of taverns, inns, shops, adventurers having small talk and learned about the general history, standards, slangs, common sense and general know-how of the world.

OK.
