Nitpick: If the girl with a French name (ciel=sky) gives her a name that means friend, she'd probably spell it "Ami" (or "Amie" to be gender-appropriate), which means, you guessed it, friend in French. Technically, "Amy" is also derived from the Old French Amee, but it means "beloved", not "friend".
