yuu haters = literal virgins. if you dont feel sorry for yuu, then you have never had a women in your life (they all do this shit). what i find fucked up is the implication that yami knew hikari was there watching. yami is a literal bpd whore who is trying to ruin everyones life. and she did a damn good job. wish she would have just became the prostitute shes pretending not to be then offed herself. everyone would be happier for it.

Dumps and completely ghosts Yu out of nowhere
Now it turns out she was mad he didn't try to essentially stalk her to meet back up
Meet up by chance anyway
Tells Yu she did it because she was bored of him and to move on
Even outright refuses to give her contact info so they could stay in touch when Yu asks
He reluctantly agrees to leave
REEEEEEE WHY WON'T HE FIGHT FOR ME, WHY CAN'T HE READ MY MIND
Forces a kiss on him because she knows Hikari is watching

Holy fucking woman moment.

I'm not sure what I feel about Yuu. A mix of pity and annoyance. Every time it seems like he is taking control of his life, it ends up that he is still being dragged around by events.

And Yami just continues being a force of chaos and destruction, to herself and everyone around her. She is the single source of all the drama in the entire series.

Wait, didn't Hikai still wait for a bit after seeing them kiss? What was Yuu doing that time?

Yeah i dont agree with this.

I dont think Yuu count this as another heartbreak because he has moved on and realise Hikari is the one he wanted to be with it. I mean yes he did cry at the end but imo it doesnt mean he was heartbroken here.

I also think what happens is just that Yuu finally decide to confess to Hikari because he finally has some closure to his first ever real relationship imo.
I don’t think he has moved in since he wanted to keep in touch with her, said he still cared and generally was still warm and open to her.
I also think the confession to Hikari was a rebound since he didn’t have time to process his emotions from whatever that interaction with Yami was.

Fuck Yuu, this fucking naïve cowardly cock-sucker. Fuck Hikari as well. Look at her scared ass crying and hiding in the cuck corner when "her crush", that she'll soon forget about, gets "taken. Yami deserved better. She was trying to GUIDE Hikari into being less of a stuck up bitch, but no she had to run away. She took Yuu from the BOTTOM and MADE him the man he is today but that hearthless coward didn't even care enough to try and find her. Being Yami is suffering. Especially with these fools.
People are way, way too harsh on Yuu. The only mistakes he made were him confessing that day and him putting Hikari on a pedestal initially. As others pointed out, Hikari didn't love Yuu in that way until "after" his whole Yami arc. That said arc left him hurt and guarded, which you can clearly see here. Yuu is just going along with what Yami says but at the same time trying to lightly reconnect because he both cares for her but he doesn't want to be put in the position of being hurt if he bares his soul to her again. Yuu was "over" his romantic feelings for Yami too, which is obvious with how passive he was being with her. It's probably why she kissed him too, as she wasn't over her feelings for him.

Yami is a girl in an awful situation who does stupid and hurtful things because she wants to be loved and wants to trust that love.

Hikari is an average good girl who is oblivious to a fault due to things "going her way". By this I mean, up until now, her life has been fairly normal without anything leaving happening leaving a permanent negative effect. (Yes even the almost prostitution didn't leave a negative effect on her, otherwise she would want nothing to do with Yami). As such, she fails to understand Yuu and Yami.
With Yami it is "fine" because Yami finds her to be like a Yuu she doesn't have to full expose her insecurities to. Yami feels like Hikari is someone who she can get an emotional uplift from while not having to risk hurting herself.
With Yuu, however, their relationship is more complex. He initially put Hikari on a pedestal as a goal. A goal which he failed. Then he went out with Yami and had a deep, loving relationship. A relationship that failed, and something he probably feels guilty over (despite him doing nothing wrong). So when Hikari wants to change their relationship into a romance, he is initially extremely guarded. She takes this as him not liking him the same way, just like how she initially felt about him, not that he was protecting himself from hurt again. Eventually she breaks down his barriers and he confesses to her. However, Hikari "witnessed" Yuu's and Yami's "relationship", and thus she feels like he doesn't love her. This is because a kiss between two people normally means love and Yuu was very heavily guarded when she tried to approach him. Thus she assumes his true love is Yami and she's the rebound, when it is actually the reverse.

"Ok how we make Yami even worse"

"make her say goodbye and leave but then slaps and kiss him while he is leaving"

"ok that doesnt do it I want something more"

"Ok then lets make her know that Hikari was always there before the kiss but she still decided to do it"

"HOLY SHIT PERFECT YOU GETTING A PROMOTION!!!!"

For her to then reappear and, in Chapter 40, unleash that tirade blaming him for not magically finding her or "chasing her enough" despite her being the one to ghost him? That's an incredibly unfair burden to place on anyone, let alone a teenage boy who was clearly just as invested.
I agree with most of your points, but I don't think he was as invested. We've had a long discussion on this with @story645, but to keep it short, to me ch. 26 and especially beach trip chapters show the difference in levels in their commitment:
  • Yami barely slept to spend as much time with Yuu as possible after not seeing him for a long time and he didn't even notice
  • His reaction to her offering to live together (or rather a complete lack of reaction)
  • And finally, him not being able to see the intensity of her feelings behind the mask
Even though you can't really blame him for most of these things, it's still easy to see that to her that relationship meant a lot more than to him.

Yami revealing she saw Hikari behind the door is some next level diablerie. She's such a red flag I love it. Yami Forever.

Relationships are hard. Understanding, caring and letting go. Yami has been hurt her entire life, as short as it is, and Yuu gave her a taste of actual happiness and companionship. She unconsciously tried to get away from him, but as she said, if he had tried enough, her trauma would be healed.
Not saying it's the right thing, but thats psychology for ya. Yuu tried to move on, not crossing lines stablished by her, believing her communication and words were true and trustworthy. He was respectful, and like she said, she did wrong by him.
This is really solid romance with an actual misunderstanding build up, that is actually hard to explain. Hikari has found a great guy, but that guy got involved with someone that loves him but doesn't know how to express it, was afraid of getting hurt anymore that she already was.

Great work.

The distress is pretty evenly distributed, if not more so on Yuu's side for being the emotional punching bag. Seriously, cut the guy some slack. What would you guys do in his shoes?

In his shoes, I'd decide that no romance is worth this much BS. Volunteering to continue being a punching bag is asinine.
Karma demands that he friend-zone the pair of them for years, while finding someone new and becoming genuinely happy. Happiness is the best karma.

Iyup, i genuinely think all 3 of them should stay away from each other, at least for a few years.

Because the way they are now, and as things stands, their relationships will not be healthy.
There's nothing healthy about a guy/girl relationship with one person getting friend-zoned for YEARS. All three characters are skilled at taking other people for granted.
