Looks exactly like traditional Japan next to modern Japan.

"There are lots of buildings with tiled roofs!"
Those aren't everywhere?

"Your hair stands out even in our kingdom."
And in the best way possible. She might be the prettiest girl in the manga. Also, this is coming from a blue haired character. To a pink haired.

If most of the world speaks the same language, travel must be fast and frequent. Otherwise it would split.

Ilya being embarrassed is cute.

Thanks for the translation!

Not much happened this chapter but glad they finally landed in Kagura. This next one is probably going to be a good heavy chapter, most likely just running around town. I feel spoiled that we got to see his magic twice in close succession while they were riding the ship.

They ought to be. But perhaps folks in Al's village don't want to use them for financial reasons. Or maybe slate is so common it's more affordable. I browsed random chapters from the beginning and the middle. It's hard to see exactly what sort of roofs there were. However, a blacksmith, of all things, had a roof made of sticks and wood. That was funny. One roof looked like rather thin tree trunks placed next to each other to cover the house. In villages wooden shingles should be common, but in towns the kind of civilisation we are seeing would like to avoid them for the sake of fire safety.

Maybe it was more about the uniform style of the roof tiles than those tiles existing at all. Although all that being said, isekai authors regularly believe many ancient inventions were either unknown in Europe or the whole world (Japan included). Isekai authors often feel like background research is a shameful thing to do because, at the end of the day, they are creating their own fantasy world, so anything goes.

Thank goodness, he finally got his soy sauce. As everyone knows it's one of the three things the japan man requires for survival. The japan man must have (in order of importance) rice, soy sauce and water. Your japan man could die if deprived of rice or water and will want to die without soy sauce or warm water.
VERY IMPORTANT, never feed after midnight or expose to water remember, always use caution when giving water to your japan man, warm water is fine for cleaning purposes but if exposed to cool water your japan man my become very ill or even enter a comatose state.
Curry and Tea? That has to be above water!
