I browsed random chapters from the beginning and the middle. It's hard to see exactly what sort of roofs there were. However, a blacksmith, of all things, had a roof made of sticks and wood. That was funny. One roof looked like rather thin tree trunks placed next to each other to cover the house. In villages wooden shingles should be common, but in towns the kind of civilisation we are seeing would like to avoid them for the sake of fire safety.

Maybe it was more about the uniform style of the roof tiles than those tiles existing at all.
