I am…kind of confused about the draw to this story. Maybe the chapters got too short too early on. I’m not confused about anything that happened so far, it’s actually really straightforward, it’s the intrigue and foundation that hasn’t really been pushing for immersion yet.

It feels choppy…? And yes the fight scenes are great and it’s awesome to see an enjoyable art style but, I’m trying to get into this, and it feels like there’s nothing to grasp on to yet.

I’m glad MC has a spine and is actually willing to straight up kill someone in defense who is trying to kill him though, breath of fresh air.

Post-isekai stories that start with "I will have a normal life now" never actually goes through it... I'd love to have seen MC just say "fuck-off, I don't care about your matters" and just walk away. It would be a more original and fun story if all the conflict happened in the background and he just decides to ignore it, maybe just every now and then he unwillingly intervenes, pretty much like one-punch man, but seems like it's going to be kinda generic.

There was a series like that before. Forgot what it's title was. Read it like... A decade ago but it got axed. Basic plot was that MC was once a hero and finished his job and got back to Japan where he lived a normal life.
Didn't want to stand out but people started getting attacked, didn't matter to him until like his sister or relative or friend got almost attacked by humans which he intervened. And continued on his day till the news of the attacks got more frequent that he decided to investigate only to discover that the "Miasma" of the otherworld started affecting the humans on the current world so he decided to step in to stop it... And then it got axed. Don't know if it had a novel or anything, I wasn't that serious in reading before.
