I kinda forget sometimes that Salmon is actually a foreign export and Japan made a deal with one of the European countries when there's an over supply in the market decades ago.
Basically, Salmon is cheaper in Japan and it made my wallet bleed when I saw how fancy the dish is.
I am not fond of fish roe, but then I am not sure if those were just imitated fish roes or not...
And I find it funny that salmon wasn't always the popular fish in Japan. I learned, a while ago, that Salmon became popular in Japan only because of successful marketing campaign by Norway, in order sell their salmon.
It was likely called Oyakodon since typically it refers to a mother and her child but if I were to extrapolate, in this chapter it's likely in reference to his teachings and him. With the choice of a seafood bowl in reference to Japan being an island nation and fishing being one of their main sources of food, as opposed to the landlocked fantasy equivalent of Germany.
maybe it was of the ingredients since didnt use all of which can found commonly on altheria but instead probably mixed with japanese (from view of old man imported) ingredients, as such not making it common avialable for everyone else.
nothing beats a fresh pot of rice with roe on top. the way the white rice adds a bit of a sweetness, and the way the roe warms up the salty flavor... now I have a craving lol
