I was thinking the same but after reading the light novel to the most recent chapter I can say while some of these are true at first it does a really good job portraying emotions and how someone who is a teen may feel insecure in a situation like this so they dont ask for help until someone ask them what happened. The protagonist and the female best friend get what they deserve later down the line and it's really good. This series is already another slop Ntr with the most annoying characters and it’s chapter one. It seems like this going to be full of cliches, like the protagonist not having any personality other than being nice or waddle in his self pity, the ex/childhood friend is bound to a fickle bitch who changes on a flip of dime(or more likely what the author thinks would prolong the story) a comical popular douchbag who’s gonna spend the whole story want to attack the protagonist because of nothing and the ex’s best friend, a character also just there drama and maybe fall for the protagonist. The only good character that is the protagonist’s parents is the cover girl simply because she haven’t spoken yet. God I hate how slop like this gets greenlit as manga when they should have die off as a manuscript not even as light novel
Nothing below would be considered spoilers, I think.
You've got it. I've read most of the WN/LN, and Miyuki's remains a realistic character without the cartoonish and entirely unbelievable on-our-first-meeting-he-forcibly-banged-me-so-good-he-warped-me being the extent of the reason. In fact, there's very little about sex in the rest of the story.
It's much more emotional and believable how her morals are slowly compromised and how she feels about it after (this is explored more in later chapters). While what she did (cheating and not disavowing the lies about Eiji's treatment of her) is unforgivable, the author does well at making Miyuki a sympathetic character.
Readers do need to keep in mind: she's a teenager, not a full-grown adult. This isn't to diminish her acts, but temper your expectations, ya know.
And having personally dealt with people like Kondo, he's realistic, too, and totally undeserving of sympathy...so far.
I read the LN and WN here: https://yukikitsuneko.blogspot.com/p/life-reversal.htmlyeah ive discovered that i was right myself, the impression i got made me look up the LN. I cant find the fully translated 2nd novel, but i read the first one and i completely agree. Its a very realistic look at cheating, or as close to realistic you can get in manga. If you happen to have a fully translated 2nd novel or even beyond, a point in the right direction would be appreciated.
