hes a psycopath with a twisted personality. he enjoyed bullying nagare and wanted to make him a cripple to have easy access to his favorite prey to bully, but he fucked up and got him killed instead, so he "lost his favourite toy" because he didnt account for the truck. hes now in this eternal state of "i wish i didnt kill him, he was my best prey to bully" which is probably why he keeps the picture.

To be fair, she's fighting some punk kids that think they're slick. It makes sense that she didn't bash their head with a rock or something like that even though it would still be self-defense here.

As to the overall chapter, I'll be a massive degenerate for a moment and express disappointment that 'that' frame of Maria-chan wasn't detailed enough but also, in a more reasonable complaint, it 'feels' like the plot is moving really slowly now. I get that the author is trying to build suspense but this is starting to 'feel' like a microcosm of the 8-RL-year Berserk boat arc where not much is happening and what little happens happens very slow to forestall the plot as much as possible. It's been, what? almost 20 chapters since the last kill? bruh.

Maria's ass on page 4 is also a treat to see, but I agree. It isn't the best written manga, but at least scenes like couple broken by tragedy getting back together to fight those who destroyed their family, and doing it with style, is just great. I only worry about death flags the husband is collecting.

yep
i think Nagare was like the one person who somewhat was like standing up to Okaya so he just got so super obsessed with him that he wanted to baiscly completely dominate him.
turns out you cant do that if the toy you want to keep playing with breaks.
Althou honestly it kinda makes you think to yourself Okaya for how smart like i know the changes was small but like cmon man you was kinda doing this on a road where cars can come if you wanted to break his body to keep him ina hospital you could done it somewhere without cars....
