If you're perfectly rational, sure. People rarely are when suddenly assaulted.
Now, I've never been a walking nuke, but I've been threatened with a stabbing at the perpetrator's home. Looking at it rationally, there's no way you'd ever get away with stabbing someone in your own home over sex, so it's not a very realistic threat (at least in this social class and age group). I definitely shouldn't have complied, but I did.
You've put more effort into writing that copium filled devil's advocate, than the author bothered to write this chapter at all.It was more like a suspended bridge effect - the fear of something bad, out of her control, happening to her (being forcefully kissed by a man she did not know) caused her heart to race, and when she was embraced by someone she trusted she confused that heart racing for love.
And then you have the recovery of control. Rather than allowing someone else to take her first kiss (in this body), it's better for her to choose someone in the vicinity, and she feels safe in the arms of this girl she's friends with. The story is pretty much spelling it out that her body is influencing the mind.
This feels like a traumatized person trying to retake control over the event that traumatized her, but fortunately it led to an actual romance instead of more trauma or an unhealthy coping mechanism.
Now, for your take on the MC being a walking nuke, that's exactly why she can't do much. The story has already established she doesn't know how to control her massive strength in a fight yet, one mistake and she could end up killing someone. Even for an adult that's not something you take lightly.
That's how I feel too. I'm a huge yuri fan, I read pretty much anything yuri I can find. But...this ain't it. This was just nonsensical bad writing, inexplicable pacing. The sort of thing that has me worried about an Axe of Damocles. Nothing about that scene felt natural at all. It seemed like a paper-thin excuse to have some fanservice with inappropriately young characters. In a word, ick.
And then it kinda launches straight into weird sexism. Like, attraction to men? Okay, plausible perhaps from hormonal influence, although certainly not a given. But then we get the shit about how embroidery is suddenly appealing? Because it's a thing girls do? That is...not based on hormones. That is based on social gender roles, how children are socialized, etc. But here we have someone who is already mentally an adult. It just straight up doesn't work that way, and it implies there's a fundamental connection between having a female body and wanting to engage in certain types of work, and that is just sexist as fuck.
A really unpleasant chapter to read overall. My hope for this story is dropping rapidly.
I explained why she behaves like she does (which you reacted with the dumb reaction), you calling it dumb and refusing it outright. I mean i guess without the skipped info its one thing, but with it, it gets rather sad. You've put more effort into writing that copium filled devil's advocate, than the author bothered to write this chapter at all.
Read this comment^ phrased it better than I could've.
Aiight, I'm done with this thread.
You are on point, but honestly my personal experience teached me, that we will see more of them in future chapters.Things you're interested in are of course influenced by your hormones and body... People can literally get depression from a fucked up gut biome. It is A factor of many that decides what you're interested in. People that grew up around cars and basically lived them could grow up and go into gardening instead. Humans are fickle and rarely are things set in stone with them.
Just because you fight gender roles advocates doesn't mean that going in the other extreme is somehow a virtue, the only thing it does is ostracize others or making them scared to do what they love to do, in fear of being seen as a sheep to the socially engineered gender roles.
Also this is a story, what the author thinks and what the MC thinks are still different things to varying degrees.
An old man wondering what kind of influence his new young body has is more than legit and it's not like MC was a scholar or especially educated. Very low interaction with women in general.
Many of the girls in the story also love fighting and are acting quite boyish, so it's not like the author is ignoring varying interests of the girls?
Also this is a translation and culture difference, things might get interpreted very differently by a Japanese native.
I'm not saying this great writing or not tropy, especially the eye rolling Casanova. But I think some people need to take a step back and stop projecting their politics and personal trauma this strongly on this.
All in all, I like to vent and bash here and there too. But maybe keep the vitriol in check.
I don't count this as double standards. Sanji is hella flirty but he never tried getting intimate with a woman without basic introduction and getting the OK sign. These are completely different scenarios.Thats the line ... if succeding its seduction, if not its called molesting. The beauty of universal double standards. You dont need to like that but sadly it is what it is.
They are not completely different. Sanji is a flirt who does things with words and cooking, while in his mind he is not different from Victor.I don't count this as double standards. Sanji is hella flirty but he never tried getting intimate with a woman without basic introduction and getting the OK sign. These are completely different scenarios.
Might drop this series, I have enough genderswap isekai im reading. This one while having superb style is quite boring atm.
I'm hurrying to upset you - there will be no more women's kisses here. That was the maximum. But the dive into Mia's chest will be frequent.
oh no, did it get axedFrom weird dude to yuri to tragic past reveal.
I didn't get whiplash but it was still a super packed few pages.
Shouldnt be. It was this packed in the novel too, just did flow a bit better overall.oh no, did it get axed
You're too used to Manga and anime. Couples often do this in reality; they'll kiss or hug each other tightly when something scary happens. This is especially true with kids, where kisses often happen randomly and suddenly. I enjoy a slow burn, Yuri, as much as the other viewer, but this is also realistic. It doesn't matter how strong the MC is, they can still get scared of things like in Saiki K when our all-powerful MC freezes up near bugs"A random pervert is trying to molest me!"
"oh no you alright?!"
"no let's french kiss"
....What in the ludicrous B-rated fantasy is this?
I don't mind yuri, but what the fuck was that pacing?
Also, the MC knows she's an unstoppable force. It has nothing to do with previously being an old man. Dude's a walking nuke, and knows it. Has absolutely nothing and nobody to fear.
This is just dumb.
