YES SAKI LET'S EFFIN' GOOOOOOOOO!!! We've seen that look of determination before. :D

One of the things I love about this series is its unpredictability. I think it's going to veer one way, and it goes a completely different way. I'm so excited to get back to Saki's POV even if just for a moment. I totally get where Kanon's mom is coming from - she sees her daughter thriving with this girl by her side, but she understands that living with someone can completely change the dynamic. She is very risk averse, especially when it comes to anything Kanon-related, so this makes total sense. She just wants to see them be a part of each other's lives always without rocking the boat, so to speak. Do I also love that it put Saki on the offensive? SO SO SO MUCH. Yes. Very much. :sneaky:

Thanks very much for the translation, as always! ❤️

I doubt Kanon's mom would put up too much disagreement if they did end up together, rather she would be a bit more understanding why they would still want to try staying together. However she could still think they should stay apart either ways as college/university life is much different from school with the first big step into adulthood.

I feel her main point is she wants Saki to have her own personal space and life outside of Kanon, despite their current 'bestie' situation. Throughout the series, it always appear that Saki is always going along with others without her prioritising her own wants, unless it was hiding what she really feels. This is also the one of the things Kanon had noticed about her: 'doesn't seem to talk much about herself', which I feel Ayano had also picked up on from her few interactions with Saki. Even Saki's own mom mentioned about how Saki's such a quiet child growing up, and blamed herself for how Saki was raised.

Kanon's mom knowing her own daughter's hard-headedness had probably want to avoid situation where Saki just burst like how it had happened with Ayano, unless Saki could step up and assert what she wants.

Mom I loved you before, but I dont love you now😤
Well she ain't being homo if that's why. She seems genuinely concerned that their relationship would be strained having to deal with each other's company all the time. Not only that, but their careers are clearly going in different directions, there's likely going to have to be sacrifices if they want to stay together and achieve their goals and the mom knows that. Also, for the mom to have a daughter that literally lost her hearing and still have issues with sexuality when she's already handle literal disabilities seems kind of dumb.

I got to page 23, and decided to give the series a break until my sister and I are safely out of the USA.

"dont cross the friendship line" how is that not???

she didn’t mean it in that way?? if u actually read everything else she said you would understand what she was trying to say, she doesn’t want saki’s and kanons friendship to end like the way ayanos and kanons did, she’s obviously noticed how saki usually goes along with people and doesn’t do alot for herself or just hides how she actually feels, she’s wants saki to have her own life that isn’t centred around kanon, if she’s living with kanon that’ll be a very hard thing to do because when u live with someone u have to make some sacrifices and stuff, kanons mum (probably) doesn’t know that they both have romantic feelings for eachother and just doesn’t want them to cross normal friendship boundaries and she’s just a worried mother who’s showing concern for her daughter and daughters friend.
Also when saki and kanon start dating and kanon tells her mum then i do expect her mum to be a little off with it because it’ll be a surprise and because she’d be worried for all the hard things that come for being in a same sex relationship but she would definitely support

I know what Kanon's mom was worried about but it's completely ok to be roommates even if you have different lifestyles. I shares a room with my highschool classmate during college and we have little to nothing in common, we went on our own way everyday and even when at home we didn't interact that much. I think it'd be better if I had shared room with my close friend and it'd definitely be better for Kanon to live with Saki
