So in a moment, the boss of the mercenary union is going to make the biggest mistake of his life. Just once in this, I'd like to see something like:
"They're called 'numbers', sir. Ahhh . . . based on what we've managed to scrape up about them, could we consider just . . . making some kind of peace deal, sir? There aren't that many of them, but each one of them seems to be worth a couple of dozen normal mercs in a fight, and they're very elusive, so if we mess with them they'd usually be picking the engagements. Their history suggests that when attacked they go straight for leadership. That would be you, sir, and they rarely fail."
"Come on, they can't be that . . ."
"This is the intel, sir. You can use the intel or ignore the intel. If you decide to ignore the intel, I think I should mention that I have two weeks of vacation that I'll be wanting to use."
"OK, so they'd be coming after me. We could set a trap . . ."
"They'd anticipate that, sir. Is it really worth the risk? These people are incredibly dangerous, but they seem to prefer a low profile. A deal would probably hold. Leave us free to handle our other headaches."
"It rubs me the wrong way, but . . . well, leave me the dossier. If it shows what you say it shows, maybe I'll go for your suggestion."
But we all know he's not going to do that. Bye bye, boss man!
