So, is she going to realize he's properly intelligent now? Feel he should have purposely moved in showy martial art stances, and drew pictures in the dirt so people realize hes not being merely a monster.
Of course, that would mostly just result in his threat level being up'd and deadlier warriors sent after him, but still, you either fully embrace the monster or not; giving the sword back, and seemingly not killing humans isn't great for the monster route.

if you want some webnovel spoilers:

This event makes them realize you can bargan with protag, you just need boobs and other barganing things, and so they "hire" protag to help them in a subjugation mission later

After a few events with the adventurers, protag ends up going to the elf village and is then "captured" by an elf with an enslavement spell, this allows him to learn the language of the elves over time, which he then uses to learn the common language iirc. He also just escapes the enslavement at a certain point, which is around when i stopped reading the webnovel cause it's a bit slow (a lot of meandering to look at boobs and whatnot lol)

She ought to understand that now. She just has her trauma with monsters, making it difficult for her personally to try to communicate with him. The Canaan kingdom folks, though, they are so stupid it's possible they wouldn't understand even if the MC was able to speak to them in a human language. On the other hand, it's easier to keep exterminating anything non-human if you don't admit they have any intelligence or emotions comparable to humans. Just call them all monsters or whatever, and there won't be problems hunting them down and claiming their territory. Applies to beast-men (animal ears folks) or even elves.

I feel like that series of events, couldn't have resolved better.
Dude got off unscathed, he didn't cause a blood bath (like a monster would), and even cleared an old "misunderstanding" (the sword).
I half-expected the MC to do something terrible by "accident", like suddenly have uncontrollable bloodlust, that'd have fuckton of negative consequences for him down the right. Lord knows some authors just love to torment their MC with that sort of stupid shit.

About that
From what I remember from MTL, while the elves did enslave him, he was really not. He used the enslavement as a chance to learn the elves language and avoid hostility from them. He could easily break free but use it to his advantage instead (I think he broke free when one of the elves tried to rebel? its been years since I last read it).
