My understanding was that someone passed by, heard the dragon child in distress, and put in a request for it to be rescued. Perhaps someone farming nearby or travelling past that place. The pay was really low. Perhaps? Else it will probably be revealed in the next chapter.

Standard web/light novel protocol; I guess in this case it is both for that reason and also to ensure that we never fall out of the "calm slice of life" vibe since the protagonist will never have to struggle, making all tricky scenarios feel low-stakes and in control. Like the case with the thugs who were going to rape the princess; we barely register this as something that could happen because the protagonist ends it in 5 seconds versus having to race to save her or something.

Oh shit thanks for reminding me. I forgot this manga had a harem tag. This is the first manga i read that has that tag and not have two females that has interest in the mc. In first few chapters.
Also didn't know it had the monster girl tag. Were in the hell did that poke it head from.
