In case it's of interest: Azuma's big confession （まじかよ久慈あいしてる！！）uses the full-blown, [typically] serious "aishiteru", not the garden-variety "suki". Curiously enough, this doesn't use kanji （愛してる）- maybe to add a layer of ambiguity, but that's just speculation on my part.

Thank you for the update! The confession was a pleasant surprise. I knew we’d be getting the hot springs moment soon, but I didn’t know about the confession! Azuma can’t help but let his love spill out. So cute how they completely forgot themselves and only saw each other on that crowded street.
