So many people bitching about blah-blah-same-old-tropes....

Uhm, 'scuse me, but did we or did we not see MC confront the Headmaster like a goddamned motherfucking bad-ass with a punch that destroys everything BUT the Headmaster to prove that he can handle whatever may come his way? That is something I have not seen much of lately.

I appreciate that when the MC did the normal generic OP protag thing of "Oh I'm just a background character, I don't matter" the headmaster cut him off with a "the hell you are."

"I'm handling the situation and gathering information and it's pretty clear you're doing the same. If my fiancée gets hurt because you just wanted to give this conspiracy more rope to hang itself with, you and I are going to have a problem, no matter what our relative standings are."
I guess it's making more sense this way. I failed to make the connection to how Alicia will get harmed, thus the confusion. Thanks

I am still confused on this part,
"Isn't it frustrating to have that in the back of your mind instead of being able to do the normal stuff you'd want to do in school?"
"People know I'm no-one special, it's fine."

...and suddenly escalated to this part
"I didn't know your family raised do-nothings. Is that really alright?"
[PUNCH]
It's like the old man insulting MC because he doesn't want to enjoy his youth and wasting it by being suspicious to certain person. Even saying that his resolve is weak.

The headmaster is saying that it's really easy to interpret Ragna's deliberate lack of proactivity in this situation as cowardice, particularly when his response to "In better circumstances you would be able to do what you liked without having to worry about a political conspiracy" was to say he is considered beneath the dignity afforded to his fellow nobles as though there wasn't something wrong with that by itself.

Ragna's answer to this was to very directly state and demonstrate that he's not happy about having to play it cool when things are obviously going off the rails and his ultimate priority is making sure no harm comes to Alicia because of it, i.e. his resolve is plenty strong even if it's currently pointed in a slightly different direction than that headmaster's.

It's not like it's selling in a spectacular way. That's besides the fact that this kind of anwser to a critique of the writing is really just argumentum ad populum.
I mean I’m not trying to argue about it, or really comb examples from different manga to provide proof on why this is a thing. I actually agree with the critique, and wish the writer did things differently. Although wasn’t the original point that most manga like this eventually goes the same way? It stands to reason that these tropes seems to be what the audience wants.

You wrote it yourself, it didn‘t appears to be selling well (although I am wondering what the numbers actually are), so it’s going down the tried and true system that most LN do.

In that case, why does "most manga" like that end up axed? Is that also what the audience wants? Remember that no author draws/writes while periodically polling his readers on what they'd like to see. The simple fact is that hardly anyone can really write their stories well, especially when it comes to worldbuilding. That's why you see so much copy-pasteing not just of tropes (which naturally turn up everywhere) but entire settings, plot points and developments. It's very rare for a series to keep up it's standards as time goes by, but if we're talking about decent authors, then it's not due to being carbon copies of other works - it's just natural that the series leads with the strongest, most entertaining ideas and only the best can keep up with that kind of level.

I don't know how to make them work properly, I've had some strange glitches lately, and anyways it's not a bad read, I'd look up the novel on novelupdates.com, a hyperlink is in the series description
I'm unsure about the timeline. So basically the plot of the otome game already happened, and the villainess get banished, and we're now in the post credit where the villainess supposed to made pact with devil and turn evil but didn't happen because of MC? But why MC just enroll to school now and not before?

Also was she always evil but get mellowed after banished, or she was brainwashed by the plot?

This one started great but now it feels like it will end up being very similar to (Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mob) especially with the other reincarnated person, I just hope it doesn't go the same route and end up heremy and he just sticks with the first girl not the protag girl

New manga comes out. First few chapters are amazing. Then you find out it isn't all that different from the others. Maybe I'm just burnt out.
Try to see other works. Maybe something not manga to reignite the burnt passion. Think of it as throwing new coals into the ember of passion.

For me, I switched. If I see an interesting title, I would check if it's an adaptation or not. If yes, then I'll read the original form, then moved to manga to enrich the imagination. If the title is ungodly good, after reading the manga I went back to the original source, and starting to notice things unnoticed beforehand... It's magical, but tedious indeed.

Mc still has the brave family's pride in him despite anything
Yea, finally a MC how has some guts
山猿 (yamazaru, lit. "mountain monkey") is a way of calling someone a bumpkin; it implies they are unsophisticated, unfashionable, unintelligence, unattractive, and poor.

Monkeys stereotypically live in the mountains in Japan. That she found a place for herself and friends after being cast out from noble society is like a monkey making a "mountain" for itself among a community of fellow monkeys, according to Ekaterina.
That's interesting, but I like this more:
I actually like how nonsensical that insult is. It's like being in the heat of the moment and trying to say something scathing, but your brain panics and you get... this.

I do the same. I've long switched to WNs. But sometimes I just miss the feeling of enjoying my mangos :qq:
