"You sound like an old man.", the old man said to the other old man.

The fact that Kuji has been in love with azuma this whole time and still not expecting azuma to fully reciprocate it is kinda sad but also what a man. Like dude's planning to buy a house azuma can comes to whenever he wants even though he could potentially has another partner at that time in the future. He doesn't even picture himself as azuma's partner in the future. I blame azuma for that. But he's finally come clean about his True Feeling™ so I forgive him.

Azuma’s lovable but Kuji’s also fascinating in his own right: cool but a bit of a dork; aloof but also so deeply in love that he’ll keep space for Azuma even if it’s not reciprocated. The dude has the patience of a SAINT.

(Side note: I was a bit unsure if the original text meant to say Azuma could come over whether he was by himself or bringing company, but given his living circumstances with his mother were mentioned I’m leaning towards the interpretation you’ve outlined.)

I took it more as a loose poly type situation, kinda in line w/ how they've sorta both been loosely confirming to the other that they're not sleeping w/ other people.

But also I respect the reluctance to outright ask to live together - Kuji moved in to take care of his dad, Azuma has already said it's on deck for his mom - and instead go the "my home is yours" route.

i find it pretty amusing how people have different takes on azuma and kuji’s commitment to each other. (i saw someone on twt imply that kuji still loves nukita-san and that azuma ‘deserves so much better’ - i wonder what version of the manga they were reading lmfao) maybe it’s just me, but even though they don’t explicitly label their relationship, the fact that they’ve been together for two years is enough “proof” that they’ve been on the same page for quite a while now. i totally get why some people want them to put a label on things—this is a BL, after all—but i also think there is something really beautiful about their unspoken vow to each other. at the core of it, their relationship is still built on love and nothing less.

i do want to see them calling each other boyfriends in the near future tho! i’m on everyone’s side on this 😆

THIS - Azuma’s only just used the L word after all, let’s not scare the horses 😂 But I think this kind of understated gesture is very in keeping with their ‘nameless’ relationship up until now. Azuma tends to joke around or express things unconventionally (his ‘yeti’, his ‘reports’), so between this and the realities of his impending carer situation it makes sense for Kuji to go softly.

It’s also what makes his confession in this chapter so impactful - there’s been a lot implied along the way, but actually coming out and admitting it is huge. (Crying right alongside you, Kuji my man 👍)

LOL WHAAAT 😂😂🤣
I suspect there’s a fairly large age range of readers, and some might expect to see things to pan out as they typically do in romance stories, while others might appreciate the ambiguity.

Given Azuma and Kuji are coming together a bit later in life, in a relationship that started out physically, it makes sense to me (especially with Azuma’s history) that there’s a lot of beating around the bush. But at least there’s progress!

Thanks for the chapter!

The looks those two exchanged this chapter... I always appreciate when an artist is skilled enough to make expressions that truly reflect the feelings, be them of love or lust or whatever.

LOL what are they reading?? I guess some people aren't used to stories that leave the traditional formulas. And maybe it's a black and white view as well. Some people forget that feelings aren't all or nothing.
And I agree with you. Clear words are useful and needed at times, but those two have been indirectly communicating their feelings for a long time already. Rather than putting them on the same page, it feels more like a confirmation, a double-check.

But I'm here too hoping for the day they confidently introduce each other as "boyfriends" (or "partners" since that seems more likely) ever since I was reminded a few chapter ago that their relationship is still undefined lol. That said, I'm a sucker for romances that show long term commitment and this story is already more satisfying than many I've read that included proposals and marriages.

my two old perverts 🙂‍↕️
definitely agree with story645's take in that it feels like an implicitly thoughtful move on kuji's end given azuma's circumstances. it's also pretty in line with the trajectory of their hazily defined relationship so far: an open invitation, as genuine as it is non-binding (though it seems they're slowly closing in on that last part 😌).

the comfort of a loosely defined relationship is that boundaries don't need to be clearly drawn; stumbling and falling on sand feels safer than doing it on concrete if you get what i mean. both of them are getting older and the desire to go out and meet new people wanes, so fumbling a comfortable relationship like theirs by going too fast seems to be a genuine worry on their minds... a balancing act between the comfort the undefined can bring and the isolation that accompanies it 🫶

Thank you, and thanks for your work on the series!
It's a great story and I'm always grateful that the original group brought it to people's attention, because it's very deserving on so many levels ☺️
