And yeah the cover art spoils which choice he's gonna go with, though out of the available options that seemed the most reasonable choice - it sounded the least likely to cause unrelenting collateral damage everywhere he goes

I felt the same at first seeing the first 3 options ... then I saw the rest and was like .... YEP definitely only 1 real valid option.

I don't know if it was left out on purpose in the manga, or if it was left out in translation, but in the LN the Ouroboros description states it can use both Life related magic as well as Death. Also I kind of remember the "Final Evolution" being an important part of the choice, which was clearly left out here (some of these are Final, and they get discarded just for that).
