Please remember the main plot was Mimiru being insecure as a gyaru, thinking it was wrong for her to be a otaku and felt like she was just cosplaying. Her feeling accepted by her friends for who she is, and getting closer to Yuuhi is what she always wanted.

True, but the major problem is that the extra chapter basically shows how she could have been fine even as an otaku because the girls are nice from the beginning, so changing herself at the end wasn't even needed, she would have probably been accepted anyway.
All in all a giant nothing burger

if that what true, what author intended and romance is not the main plot, they failed miserably. because even with reread just now, from the first chapter, i thought romance is the main plot, and THAT, is more the is the character back story and personally

I gotta say that was an pretty nothing ending. Like she just says it with very little tension and everything is fine and all? At least they could make a few more pages to better convey the feelings, express why she needed to say it right NOW or make it a big joke were they all say "Yeah we always knew, you stare at anime in your cellphone all the time", you know something? The final scene in the festival were she is full of doubt about being "allowed" to be next to those girls was so full of emotion and meaning so i realy know Minami could have made something with more punch.
