honestly?
I kinda dig his absolute refusal to even listen to her. Even if he's aware (which, seems he is) that she didn't purposefully send him off into the claws of a dragon, the fact that he's held that grudge and is steadfast in just ...not giving her the time of day is something you don't see often in even this subgenre of the revenge style stories - usually the MC caves or at least gets all flustered/stuttery around the person who kicked them out (especially when it's a girl, bonus if she was important like Sasha was), so having him just be a straight-up asshole to her and then to everyone else is enough of a change that I hope it stays that way for awhile.

I'm sure she'll be in mortal peril eventually and he'll have to decide if he's gonna save her life--and if he does, I hope he still just leaves with a "fuck you, later" and the gimmick persists all the way to the end of the story.

And I don't even hold a grudge against Sasha as a character; I just like that the ML's enough of a quasi-anti-hero that I don't want him to "soften" toward her and ruin this image he's got going on.
Personally? Same, like if I was in Hyce's shoes I would also attempt to cut them off.

It's just something you don't recover from especially since Sasha and co. didn't apologize for 5 (or 2, can't remember) bloody years. I would've definitely not want to see their faces much less talk nor know about their relationships.

At this point after all of this talk from the novelizations I kinda want to just go write my own version and do it correctlydo it the way I want it done.
I have too much on my plate to actually make that happen at the moment, but. This makes me wanna take a crack at writing stories again.

the whole "Fine, I'll do it myself" energy, thing. Because I feel like this has the potential to be at least decent.

Tbh, 'she sent me to die' is getting too old for Hyce's reasoning. We can see the flame dying down and Sasha can just repeatedly deny accountability by saying it was just a mistake. It would have been better if her dishonesty of kicking a friend out and irresponsibly sending a weak D-Rank to a remote location then running away for 2 years was the focus of his hatred.

Hyce reconcile with Sacred and Sasha but never forgave them, here the heart to heart from WN chapter 235 + the conclusion. I didn't post the full chapter.

"At this point, reconciliation is impossible. Moreover... I have come to realize again. I still cannot forgive you 'Sacred.'"

"……"

"But... I also share the same feelings as you."

"The same feelings…?"

"Yeah. I want to talk to you again, eat together... cooperate and fight together. I thought it would be fine if you 'Sacred' were in the corners of my ordinary daily life... that’s how I feel."

"Haise…"

Sasha widened her eyes slightly, trying to say something... but closed her mouth.

For now, she couldn't rely on Haise's kindness.

"Sasha, tell me your feelings. Your true feelings, without any lies."

"…………"

Sasha took a step, then another, moving within reach of Haise.

Then, she looked up, meeting Haise's gaze directly and said.

"I exiled you."

She stated the truth.

It was something undeniable and certain for Sasha as well.

"I became stronger as a 'Sword Master.' But you never awakened your 'ability,' and I took out my frustration on you... ultimately, I was convinced you couldn't keep up and exiled you. Even now, I can say... that decision was not wrong."

"…………"

"You almost died from the information I gave you, but ironically, you became stronger. You became the 'Embodiment of Darkness' fueled by your anger and resentment towards us, becoming an S-rank adventurer and the strongest... I have been avoiding you because I've feared to face you."

"…………"

"But facing you... apologizing... I felt a new bond forming and growing between us. I was just satisfied with my one-sided apology, but I haven't heard a single word from you about forgiving me."

"…………"

"I was relying on you. I took comfort in the kindness you gave me... prioritizing only my own fulfillment and denying your feelings about our new bond."

Sasha clenched her fists, lowered her face, and gritted her teeth.

Haise did not look away from Sasha.

And then, Sasha lifted her face... tears welling in her eyes.

"I'm sorry...!! Haise, I... still didn't want to lose the bond with you. Even if it's ugly, even if it's pathetic... that was my true feelings."

"...I see."

"Haise, I..."

"That's enough. If that's how you feel... then it's fine."

"...Huh?"

Haise pointed his index finger at Sasha, catching her tears.

"I won't forgive you all. But I won't deny a new bond either."

---------

Thus, Haise and Sasha reconciled.

It wasn't a perfect reconciliation. Haise still hadn't forgiven 'Sacred,' and Sasha didn't think she had been forgiven either.

But there was no longer any denial of the 'bond' that had been newly formed.

They laughed together, shared meals, and sometimes took on the same requests.

They accepted spending such time together.

------------

Beside during her trial in the labyrinth, Sasha was almost defeat by a shadow Hyce but win because she got angry the fake talk about forgiving her with her death. She said the true Hyce would never forgive her.
ah I guess there is something good, sloppy but is something (unless there is more since is not the full ch), but he should not include Robin in "Sacred" since she was the only one that was against his exile

I do hold a bit of a grudge against sasha simply for the fact that it took her 2 whole freaking years to apologies for leading him into a death trap unintentionally, that alone is a cause in my mind to be an ass to her, she even left the whole correcting the mistake up to the guild master.

This reminds me of shit I'm dealing with currently. People who feel as if they have the right to treat you any kind of way. Running away from their mistakes to make themselves feel better, and then expecting you to forgive them when they speak to you, as if it never happened. Only to attempt a half ass apology and make no habitual change. Now I read the spoilers and just... man.

I don't know why other characters try to make him look like he is in the wrong and that he should be the one to try and fix things, like if he wasn't the actual victim... it's quite very justifiable if he doesn't want to fix things after she didn't even try for years. He was the one wronged and maimed for life but he is the one that needs to fix things? yeah sure author, that's not how that works...
that literally is how it works when the victim is a man and the perpetrator is a woman. it's exactly like this irl too

Honestly, the most annoying character to me (other than Sasha) is that meddling guildmaster. I’m guessing he probably sent the mc there cause he probably also sent the girl there.

Sasha is the fl. This is not going to follow the revenge trope. In fact, in the wn for like 300+ chapters, she is pretty much living her best life without ever suffering any consequences for her actions... Until she gets usurped, and is expelled from her own clan. She will join MC, and be part of his plutonic harem (ha, she thought she could reunite with the mc to fulfill their dream together alone, MC was like nah, but you're welcome to tag along). MC is still all business currently, no time for romance when there is powerful beings to kill.
you mentioned a forceful shift of leadership in clan sasha?
could you share the details how this goes down?
because the world building surely went on and on to make her the eternal chosen one, never to be rejected by anything she ever touched (besides haise and platonic girlfriends obviously).
what was the reason of her getting expelled? and what are the other 4 douche bags doing?

So it's more like the author simp for Sasha that he gave all the plot armor for her, while the MC, being mad at her at first, became softened later on, like a tsundere-type character.
Bruh its to the point that after reading all these spoilers that I wouldn't be surprised if Sasha had a succubus love curse on her that makes everyone around her fall in love with her :shamihuh:

also Author being a simp for sasha reminds me how the author of rent a girl is a simp for the FML(his wife) hence both series are trash thx to authors one sideline simping for the shit character that EVERYONE hates :02:

either way yea seems like I'ma drop this series too if the spoilers this chapter is true which I find a tad weird about since past ch spoilers didnt mention it being this bad so I'm like hmmmmmmmmm which is the true spoiler :nyoron:

Oh boy if you don't like sasha you're not gonna like the latest chapter
She confessed saying she want to be a dungeon explorer with him and the mc didn't reject her
He said he'l think about it
Yeah after typing these comments I read the reddit post about chapter 412 🤣

Idek what kinds of drugs the author regularly takes to be able to write this kinda dynamic.
Hoping he tells her she has no place in his heart but we can only dream but what if the author really does that as an act of final revenge, she'll probably break irreversibly :meguupog:

Not really liking this elf girl either. "Did you even try to?" Why is it all on him? Especially when he doesn't really seem to care if things get patched up. And with all the stuff people revealed about Sasha in this thread it's pretty hard to find almost anyone likeable in this story.
The MC is w/e, but man, every other character so far is rather insufferable in some way, especially his old party members. That one dude is obviously jealous of their old relationship as childhood friends and eggs him on with the "yeah, we're out on a date" comments (most likely fueling his part of the decisions to banish him from the party), the other snarking bitch from their party and the other one who wants to just try and be buddy buddy again along with Sasha.
Yuck.

Did she bother to do the least bit of investigation before giving him the location of a "great" herb gathering spot that apparently nobody ever approached for whatever reason even though they could have made a killing gathering them? No, they apparently didn't even bother to do something as rudimentary as asking the guild, whose members apparently knew it was a dragon den.
I agree with all the rest but this one is unfair IMO.

Saying that she should have went there and checked if the region was safe would be like if she treated him like a child or at least not even an adventurer able to gather herbs by himself. Was she also supposed to gather the herbs and left them in a neat gift package for him?
Like you said, the Guild knew that there was a dragon that recently settled in the area. The Guild should have put a giant notice on the board saying that people should avoid this region until the dragon had been taken care of or left. I 100% put the blame on the Guild for not making the info public, not on Sacha for not guessing that a region that used to be safe had suddenly become dangerous.
