So the countries that carved up Japan are seen as R, C, F, A, and E.

There's a good chance that R is Russia as it looks like they only took the northern tip of Honshu and possibly took Hokkaido too.

C could be China as they took Kyushu and some other portions of Honshu.

Just not sure what F, A, and E are. F could stand for France since they are one of the most powerful military in the world? Not sure what A is, could be just America, kinda like a nickname for the US or could be Australia for various reasons. As for E, I've got no idea, but could be the name for an International agency since that was mentioned.

Ah, whatever, I'm probably thinking too much. It could be that all these letters are for made up and they'll be introduced later for this manga's worldbuilding. Fun thought exercise though.

ooooh...
I didn't notice that
I thought it was just A, B, C, D for each prefectures, since the map is basically that

yeah, A is most probably US, because Japan never call them USA, just America

on another note,
so those countries want the Japan's resource rights?
like... what?
I mean, fish? Yeah. Makes sense
Rare metals??
OIL??
In Japan????
Maybe they mean resources that can be found on the sea floor? Cause otherwise this does not make sense, Japan was always all about processing resources and high tech, not mining resources.

Their relationship abit weird, they keep trying to sell us on it but they both have no chemistry. He doesnt say or do anything profound but they make it seem like its special...

E could quite likely be the EU,since they were mentioned as being sent there.

Japan and oil? That can’t be right
The war started in 2027,and it's 203X,so maybe part of the reason for the war kicking off was a sudden discovery of an absolutely massive oil field, maybe discovered during the way instead...

...except Japan does actually have oil reserves, here and here being two properly marked places I could find.

It's a small amount, putting in #44 for production, but the country is fifth largest consumer and fourth largest importer.

For a carved up nation like that, each oil source along with their respective facilities would definitely be worth fighting for.
