Chapter 68 is titled "Don’t Hate Me."

Here are some comments from the Japanese audience on the Sunday Webry app:

g2xEpop.png

I believe it’ll end with Takt and Riku kissing in front of Shizuku, after she recovers from her illness.
:meguupog:

DbXGqMj.png

No way, I won’t forgive Takt.
Some people are getting all excited about the BL stuff, but I’m not looking for that, so go do it on your own if you want.

VPK2N5E.png

Why the hell are you leisurely starting a BL exhibition??
Go look for her right now!!!!

fNUwyW2.png

It’s funny how in these past few chapters the focus has been so much on Takt and Riku’s BL that Shizuku, the heroine who casually had her secrets spilled by her mom, has basically faded into the background.
:this:

D33GVSP.png

Shizuku’s seriously been left alone for a few chapters, but is she still naked under that bridge-like place?

NMqmFgU.png

Riku’s gone as far as taking a leave from school, even ready to quit just to look for Shizuku, but the funny part is that everything would be solved if he just asked Takt right next to him, “Where’s Shizuku?”

JSorNf3.png

There’s a lot going on, but reading this chapter made me feel like I just want Riku and Takt to get along.

nuDbZXz.png

Riku, there’s just no way his arrow is ever going to point toward Umimi.

V1hUeoP.png

From Takt’s perspective, Riku actually has such a cute, heroine-like face.
:aquadrink:

4cEaUKO.png

Looks like the story’s being driven by the comments.
:thonk:

Mhd7zsH.png

Hurry up and wrap up the story.

avCBzok.png

I’m not looking for any BL.

diiBshu.png

I like Riku, but being with the three of us is more important, so I’ll prioritize keeping the balance by dating Takt! Sorry if that makes Riku suffer! And since I still like Riku, I’ll tease him while dating Takt! Sorry he can’t understand and struggles! Also, I’ll leave without explaining anything! Bye! …Yeah, Shizuku, this is impossible.
:this:

WXB062d.png

If this ends with Riku and Shizuku getting together, that means Takt, Umimi, and Yako will end up dating other guys.
The other heroines, who have high likability but are paired with some random nobody… for readers, that’s basically NTR.

This is a BL manga.

At first, I started watching just for the lewd stuff. But somehow…

5CfDqkY.png

That was such a great episode! “Even if I hate you or you hate me, I can’t live without you” feels like it hits the core of this story. Having Takt say it was really clever. I can’t imagine what form the epilogue will take, but I’m looking forward to it.
Oh wow, someone who’s actually enjoying it.

Ufds68S.png

I don’t really understand what’s going on, but I’m rooting for Riku and Shizuku (even if that’s the minority opinion).

K4wOZa6.png

Ah~ finally made it this far!!
I’m dying to see how things unfold~!!
Huh, another one.

I just checked the sales for Volume 7, released on 2025-08-08. According to Shoseki Ranking data, it sold around 9,702 physical copies in its first month. Here’s a chart showing the sales for all volumes:

hrgAfYR.png

It was the lowest-selling volume in its first month, but still, considering it’s an erotica dumpster fire, that’s pretty good.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot Shizuku was last seen naked under a bridge alone, thanks random Japan bro for reminding me.

I can sense that the author is sick of the fans through his writing, so I would not be surprised if he has a "Gal Cleaning" type crash out and tries to get back at his critics through the story.

Would be the ultimate "FUCK YOU" from the author if we get a jumpscare of her getting her back blown by a random hobo under the bridge NTR doujin style.

So they're genuine fan of this. Well, I don't kink shame :lul:.

The sale are not bad for a trash of story. Author can be proud, tbh.

I like this comment. It resume how dumb her plan was. Make me remember how much of a scumbag was Takt to profit from and Riku ended up as victim.

It’s funny how in these past few chapters the focus has been so much on Takt and Riku’s BL that Shizuku, the heroine who casually had her secrets spilled by her mom, has basically faded into the background.

It's a pretty sum up of the story on how Shizuku has been handled in the story like a plot device and we've been fooled by the author on what he wanted to focus :dogkek:

Looks like the story’s being driven by the comments.

Frankly, it's has been my favorite theory on how much the story was boucing left and right, filled with Yako filler relief time and other thing.

Riku’s gone as far as taking a leave from school, even ready to quit just to look for Shizuku, but the funny part is that everything would be solved if he just asked Takt right next to him, “Where’s Shizuku?”

not only that. He got the freaking visit card from her mom ffs. He never used this (maybe in 69, he'll remember that phone exist)

Ah, this manga can figure on the "how to not write a mediocre drama" top list.

No no...it'll be the beach manager wearing a bear costume. Shizuku's mom did warn Takt about the bears.

I want to break down Shizuku's plan just because it pisses me off so much. Bascially, there are four outcomes.

1) Shizuku doesn't tell about her illness and dies. - Shizuku decides not to tell anyone she's terminal with a 20-30% chance of surviving (except Takt a few chapters ago). She dates Takt to keep the friend group together for however much time is left. She makes a promise to Takt (why?!) to give herself to him as soon as she "transfers schools". She tries to seduce her true love Riku so she can at least give her virginity to him because otherwise she's giving it to Takt (because of her promise) or dying. Shizuku dies and Riku is devastated both from the guilt he feels from cheating with Shizuku over his best male friend and also because his true love is dead. End result: Shizuku is devastated as she doesn't get to be with Riku. Takt is devastated as he realizes he super fucked over Riku instead of just semi-fucked. Riku is devastated about pretty much everything and now has trust issues with Takt. I don't see Riku and Takt remaining friends.

2. Shizuku doesn't tell about her illness and lives. Shizuku lives and Riku is devastated both from the guilt he feels from cheating with Shizuku over his best male friend and also because no one bothered to tell him Shizuku was terminal. However, she lived and now there's a huge mess to clean up. End result: Shizuku is devastated as now she has to somehow clean up the bomb that went off. Takt is devastated as he realizes he super fucked over Riku instead of just semi-fucked. Riku is devastated from everything and probably has super trust issues to the point where I can't see him wanting to reconcile with Takt or Shizuku.

3. Shizuku tells about her illness and dies. - Shizuku decides to tell Takt and Riku she's terminal with a 20-30% chance of surviving. She decides to make the most of her time left and rejects Takt (or maybe he doesn't ask her out because he knows how cruel it would be to deny Riku and Shizuku their time and he figures he can try to date Riku once Shizuku is dead). Riku and Shizuku date and spend time with whatever friend group is still there. Shizuku dies. End result: Shizuku gets to spend the time she has left doing what's most important to her. Riku is sad but at least he has happy memories from their time together and got to be with the woman he loves for a brief time. Takt - who gives a shit.

4. Shizuku tells about her illness and lives. Shizuku lives. End result: Shizuku gets to spend the time she has left doing what's most important to her and omg what a fucking happy ending - by some miracle she beat the illness and now gets to spend the rest of her life with the man she loves. Riku has happy memories from their time together and got to be with the woman he loves and omg isn't it great Shizuku lived and now he can spend the rest of his life with her. Takt - who gives a shit.

It's just objectively better for Shizuku to have told Riku and Takt from the beginning that she's dying. If Shizuku dies, Riku is going to be sad no matter what but by telling him ahead of time you get to have some happy memories instead of the shitshow we have now.

I think that random japanese fan who said that the author is just writing based on the comments is on to something.

It's the only way this mess makes any sense, in that the author just wrote shit by the edge of his seat without thinking. Little shit probably didn't even know himself what Shizuku's secret was until just recently is my bet.

Bro, you’re absolutely right and anyone with a brain would agree with you. But the author didn’t give much thought about this shit. He wanted Shizuku to have some secret from Riku, that’s all. Maybe he was already thinking about her having and illiness, maybe not, no one can’t say. But I’m pretty sure that originally, Takt should have been in the secret too, but the author probably thought that Takt would look to evil with that. Well in the end, Takt and Shizuku still appear as very, very bad friends to Riku, selfish and irresponsible. In addition of that, Shizuku sounds more and more stupid, Takt at least didn’t know that she was on her death bed, but she knew, and still choose to do all that shit

Btw, when they were on vacation and she was about to be raped, the thing she said to the dude was simply that she was sick ? And the dude backed off like that ? Or maybe he thought her disease was aids :haa:

We got into this discussion on the discord for the English translators and a lot of the people on there chalked Shizuku's actions up to "women issues" i.e. they thought she was dumb and irrational because she's a woman. I cannot stress enough how much I hate that take.

As far as Shizuku is concerned and why she acts the way she does: I believe the author is not the best when it comes to drama. I think they're trying hard but as a first drama work it's not hitting the notes it should. I believe they want Shizuku to be a tragic heroine so they're taking liberties. They probably want her to come off as emotional and not strictly thinking rationally all the time but a lot of the authors choices make Shizuku come off as a moron which I don't believe is their intention. I think we're supposed to believe that at the time Takt asked Shizuku out she felt she had no other choice than to accept so she could keep the friend group together. It doesn't make logical sense but maybe to the author it did.

I agree with you that the author wanted Shizuku to have a secret from Riku to spice up the manga. I 100% believe the secret was always supposed to be that she's terminally ill (with a caveat that she might live). I believe the author also wanted Takt to have a secret from Riku (being gay and in love with him) and I think you're right that the author didn't want Takt to also be in on Shizuku's secret because that would make Takt too evil.

I believe that Shizuku thought she was doing the kindest thing for Riku in not telling him she was dying as she wanted Riku to be able to get over her once she was gone. She probably felt that if she did tell him and spent the rest of her time being lovers with Riku it would make her death hit him even harder. If she doesn't tell him, he's losing a friend and a love that never panned out. If she does tell him, he's losing a friend, a lover and a love that would have been great to have the rest of his life and now he's empty. It doesn't make logical sense to me but I guess it doesn't really have to. This is a character dealing with their upcoming death and not making decisions based on logic.

I'm giving the author the benefit of the doubt that they had most if not all of the main points set in stone from the beginning and only a few times played fast and loose. I 100% believe the beach manager arc was fast and loose. I think the author played it up to get a different NTR vibe going and honestly didn't bother to think about it too deeply as it falls apart the moment you try to critically think about it. There's no combination of words that Shizuku could have strung together to get that guy to back off. This guy was willing to drug and blackmail people. There's no way they would have backed off based on words. The author just wanted to inject some more drama to keep stringing people along and just didn't do their due diligence on coming up with a plot that made sense.

Also, introducing other characters like Umimi and Yako are a good way to add filler and a few more drama instances. Anything to keep the readers strung along and paying for sunday webry's chapters.

I think this story could have been great if the author kept the cast to Shizuku, Riku & Takt and focused solely on them and kept the story tight and fast-paced. However, the story would have been over by now and a lot less money generated so there's no way we would have gotten that.

So one of the people on the English translator's Discord channel has access to the Sunday Webry app and apparently there was an author's note for Chapter 69 that said the manga is ending soon.

I just looked on twitter and it translated a tweet from 4 hours ago that said "Their Girfriend latest chapter has been updated!!!!!!!! There are only a few chapters left, but I would be delighted if you could see it through to the end." - Grain of salt on how accurate the translation from Chrome is

With everything that happened so far, I bet on 2nd and 3rd outcome.
Thanks that random japanese comment,
Imagine if Shizuku mysteriously died under that bridge. The chaos would be galactical.
I think that random japanese fan who said that the author is just writing based on the comments is on to something.

It's the only way this mess makes any sense, in that the author just wrote shit by the edge of his seat without thinking. Little shit probably didn't even know himself what Shizuku's secret was until just recently is my bet.
I kind of agree with that based on the comments theory
but after some thinking, everything kinda make sense?
Well, the glue that put the plot together is made out of mud. But i kinda works?

Anyway,
Whatever ending is coming to us, i think the lesson that I can learn with all of this is that:
  • Be honest and tells your illness to the people that you care and love. Sure... They will obviously feel sad and pity about your fate but at least they can prepare physically and mentally that you are going away. That way they can move on easily.
  • The author storytelling skills sucks

@Mangamoz @rezced @RakshaJaeger @HellJester , Chapter 69 is out in Bokugen.

So, after their bonding time and Takt getting confirmation from Riku that he likes Shizuku, Takt leaves Riku an apology letter. In it, he apologizes for dating Shizuku even though he knew Riku liked her. He admits he only did it because he didn’t want to be left out, since the three of them had always been together.

He also tells Riku where Shizuku is and asks Riku to contact him when he arrives, but says this will be their last contact, as he plans to embark on a journey to become a better man. While Riku reads the letter, we see Takt leaving his house and confronting his father.

After securing financial help from his parents, Riku is about to leave when Umimi shows up to say goodbye and wishes him a safe return.

The chapter ends with Shizuku receiving a call from Takt as she and her mother prepare to leave the place they’re staying.

Insight:

So Takt didn’t have feelings for Riku, he just didn’t want to be alone... and Shizuku agreed to date him for the same reason, even though she liked Riku... This is so dumb.

I’ll get the comments later.

Oh boy, it's just so lame. If I was the author, I'll go all in the gay theory. At least, it'll leave a less bitter taste than the "I didn't want to be alone, so I've acted like a prime asshole". If he isekai and meet Yuu, I'm sure they'll be best friend :lul:.

The cherry on the top, Takt go in a journey to be a better man. I don't know what to say, sigh...this drama trope.

So, the visit card will never be used or what ? Because Riku just need to call, damnit. Instead he take his bike.

Time for Takt to apologise to Shizuku I think. Welp, first step to redeem himself.

Is dumb. Even worse than dumb. Riku has been fucked up because of his best friend (who is not) and Shizuku who wanted to glue them together by accepting this.
