It's one of the aspects of the "reincarnated with the Ego intact" that's (ab)used in various ways as a plot/character development vehicle. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. This one is ..relatively subtle.. about it.

What was the point of the MC being an old dude in his previous life ? He has 100% the mental state of a young teenage girl.

There's a five letter word that starts with "T" that handily explains how an old dude could possibly have that mental state, but would probably farm me quite a few "Strike" and "Dumb" reactions if I said it. Not saying it's the case here, but just that the combo isn't impossible.

In any case I feel like the author is working through some stuff with this and it's wholesome imagining not just Susie being happier but maybe they as well.

Even if it’s not explicitly trans, many gender-bending titles definitely use it like a metaphor for it - after all, gender-bending titles are inherently about how we see the role of gender in our world, and how that shapes us.

But then people would do the “Strike” reactions because they don’t want to think while they’re reading manga, they just want to see a cute girl and then post some reaction gifs here
