I’ve seen some stories where they justified onis being born with their horns by saying that the horns are soft and squishy until some time after birth (duration varies), where it will then harden completely, or stay a bit squishy.

I don’t think this manga will elaborate on that front cuz fantasy isn’t required to mesh with our logic.

Newborns obviously have Horns made of keratin and fat, soz they have a consistency/tactile feel similar to human ears.

The alternative of them being more fully keratin and therefore hard like a rhinoceros' horn is too horrifying.
