If this isn't a really late April Fool's release then this manga is over, it diverted a bit from the WN but in the end it took the same path.

Also I really hate how everyone defends her reasoning for being shit is because apparently the girl has autism(according to the defenders) as if thats a great excuse for being oblivious :shamihuh:
an asperger autism promise and an neurotypical (normal) promise are not the same thing. aspergers are literal, black and white thinkers. a promise of an asperger literally means they will do anything possible to make it happen.
to neurotypicals, it means that right now, they really feel like they will do it and they are showing an emotional commitment to getting it done. the reality is that if something more important comes up, or if it becomes to inconvenient, the promise will be ignored.
so aspergers, when dealing with neurotypicals, have to keep in mind that a promise to them means that they will try hard to make it happen. it is not a literal guarantee that it will happen.

sasha is an egomaniac, not autistic. the author made a character that doesnt care, even when the causality and consequences of her actions are presented to her.
she throws a tantrum and presses herself on her target until she gets what she wants, because of the plot.

It isn’t even betrayal. It’s just plain common sense hyce at the beginning of the story literally nearly killed and was being dead weight to the team. FmC saw that it was safer for him to not be in danger thus she kicked him out to keep him safe.

I really think you guys should work on your reading comprehension

Being kicked out is not the reason of this guys edgy emo phase. Is that for a while it looked like they tried to kill him since she didn´t even have the "common sense" of checking the place before sending her very weak friend to the slaughterhouse nor even give some apologies after the deal.

Yes, we all need some reading comprehension

Oh, it's worse. Basically.

- He was sabotaged since day one by the lesbian Priest girl and the Knight guy. They ensured he would not receive any training, nor be taught anything. They in fact made sure he was so busy with various menial tasks and other stuff that he couldn't even do it on his own when he had time.

- They also made sure to trip him up and keep him out of fights so he'd fall back further and further. Because both of them have designs on Sasha and saw him as an obstacle to what they wanted and wanted him gone.

- The reason to kick him out becomes even LESS of a reason, when they begin recruiting low level/entirely new adventurers to build up Sacred and branch out. Sasha herself even notices that. When these same people begin to actually train newbies and teach them to fight. Something they never did for Hyce but very much did for her when they originally set out. She sees it, wonders about it, especially since they were the ones to convince her to kick him out, and then shrugs it off and moves on.

- Sending him over there was stupid, and shows she never thinks things through nor puts in even the most basic of effort into anything.

- Further when he collapsed and might've died, she left immediately on another quest. She didn't even stick around to wait for him to wake up or to see if he recovers much less apologizes to him. It makes sense for the other two people mentioned earlier, since they want Hyce gone. But not for her to do so.

- In the WN when she finds out those two people did all these things, are into her, how they sabotaged Hyce and confess to her. What do you think she does? Get angry? Kick them out? Feel bad? She does nothing. She keeps them around, they get to keep acting like they did before, lusting after her and treating Hyce badly.

- She also keeps getting recognition for shit Hyce did, as the world bends to make her out to be the bestest thing ever. Even the girls Hyce befriends, rescues, and works with somehow end up primarily working for Sasha's benefit in the end.

This isn't some great writing or deep plot. It's that the author completely fell in love with Sasha and ended up trying to bend the stories in various ways to make her out to be the bestest ever. Ignoring all her actions and fanboying her hard. Sasha is the authors waifu, his favourite character. And the manga seems to SPEEDRUN that.

We LIKE edgy MCs here
In the WN when Hyce is not with Sasha he's a bit grumpy but attentive and considerate, so most of us started reading the novel thinking he will throw the edge until the author forced Sasha down our throats.

Oh hey look just deleting the personality and origin of the story because no author can resist the forgiveness rhetoric (i seriously need to stop reading this manga and LN im gonna have a stroke at this point)

So all the edgy "Im all alone now and got betrayed I have trust issues" thing lasted only this far ? Sure it looked like it would get solved but I think it ended all the conflict a bit too early. Now it will be the classic I love you now come with me while the mc will say "nah because the plot needs me to be alone and edgy while we have literally no issues rn"
Yeah delete legit everything from the first 2 chapters because "oooga booga, me cant write people other than the good boys"

When it's the stated central premise of the manga, it's a little unfortunate to see, though.
I appreciate that, but other examples are:
Loner Life in Another World - He is never alone, he had one night by himself in the first chapter... He has a harem
She's Likely Aiming for My Older Brother - She isn't, and it doesn't take long to prove it. Now, it is just a romance
Alya sometimes hides her feelings in Russian - For about 4 chapters, then it is all about the Student Council.
I would say about 90% of the time, these interesting hooks vanish without a trace and revert into bog-standard romances/Isekais. Especially the ones that start life as a one-shot.

The three you referenced had hooks relating to attributes of a character's personality or situation that stands on its own from the start, independent of any events in the story creating said premise. Yes the situation and circumstances changed, but it came about as a result of the plot, and involved actual progression of the characters within the story.

To contrast, this title's premise is a character trait that exists solely because of the actions of another character, and thus it becomes the premise after those actions take place. So in a sense, the hook of the story was created by the actions of Sasha and the two jealous horndogs of Sacred, but wasn't present from the getgo like the others.

So it would make sense if effort was then made by Sasha to rectify what she had done to Hyce to show more of that character development, and thus make a case for Hyce to abandon all of his character motivation and stop hating her.

Instead, the premise was changed by the MC simply being written as having given up on his core motivation, and arguably in this adaptation it was done against his own agency--Hyce himself says his body moved on its own to save Sasha.

That's not even Hyce deciding to act; that's the author going "welp, can't have my waifu Sasha getting a booboo and looking bad in front of anyone" and she proceeds to then solo the creature through deus ex machina power macguffin activation.

After which, she barely apologizes to the MC, 2 years late, immediately demands he come back to her without ever reflecting on what she did to him, and he just....rolls over and forgets he was pissed at her.

The main hook and gimmick was thus negated, and through no conscious effort or choice on the part of the MC or actual character progression on the part of the heroine who caused it all.

Did you people forget this is party expulsion slop and not an actual quality piece of literature?
"quality piece of literature" being entirely subjective on its own, that metric as applied by most institutions of the world would see the vast majority of manga struck from the list.

People aren't here looking for Shakespeare or Alexandre Dumas; but basic storytelling that isn't just "ignoring character progression and motivation in favor of the one character the author has a crush on being made to look as good as possible" is something that should be expected on the part of the audience, lest this degradation of quality in manga and web/light novels become more and more accepted.
