My company has been doing this for a couple of years now.
The deal is you work a couple of hours longer for four days in a week, and then you get a day off.
I usually do it while working from home, so a good part of the extra work time is compensated by not having to commute to the office.

And then the day off is great for avoiding crowds when skiiing, going to the seaside etc.

that's just working 4x10 or whatever instead of 8x5, that's not what this comic would be talking about. (less but longer shifts is not a novel concept)

Possibility for a 4-week schedule on-demand is a public policy which Belgium recently adopted.

From the looks of it, it's successful in giving some white-collar workers more flexibility for their personal schedule. Didn't try it myself for now, though 🤔
