One does not simply start off the story, build a relationship between the two, have them make love (even if it's just because of the curse), delay the chapter with an animated trailer or something, and then the newest chapter's first page is him BANGING A CATGIRL.

I've read tons of garbage stories. I still read some that I start to unironically like, or waiting for the story to improve. Some I drop because the writing slowly got bad or bland, some I drop immediately.

This series just speedrun being in my "dropped" library.
