I have never trusted either of the protags, my theory is that their own overglorification of the OG Miyu is what somehow led to her death.
On one hand I don't want it to be a twist, because it would be too much of an obvious one, but on another I want to see how the author would justify it.

Imo, yes! Yuushin has never truly shown his real personality. We've only seen bits here and there. Like how he actually thought OG Miyu was annoying.
I think it's quite absurd since he was in the hospital during the event and they were exchanging messages so it would be pretty easy for Miyu's dad to check hospital records and his daughter's phone to see if it was possible to be him. Unless they pull that he broke his leg and lost his memory when Miyu was killed. But that would only make her dad an awful detective.
I just don't get what Miyu wants by seducing Yuushin. She really lowers her guard around him and already has him doing everything she wants anyway.
It gets to the discussion to where does Miyu's influence on him stops and where does his own personality starts. He's being kind and doing stuff that he thinks Miyu would do for so long that it's already part of him. The same can be said about this Miyu's love for Taiyaki.

Would be funny/interesting if it would end up that fake Miyu is true Miyu and the one who died was someone else, but close to Miyu enough that she started the whole charade of pretending to be dead including her own father. I don't recall there being any actual documents shown that would prove real Miyu died?
Alternatively both MC and fake Miyu were the reason why real Miyu died, and the shock made them forget, but the hospital/messages someone above mentioned kinda go against this? At least as long as dad detective isn't shit and the hospitalisation was after the death?

I'm gonna be so disappointed if its gonna be that OG Miyu actually just killed herself,
and it was just an elaborate ploy from OG Miyu, to make Yuushin and Fake Miyu to fall in love with eachother and to unite the old class into being friends again.

The dad claims OG Miyu is dead. We are not given a reason to distrust him, but we are also not given a reason to unconditionally believe him.
