Thanks for the translation.

I can already tell how this going to play out. Usually an author would wait a while before introducing the 3rd person of the love triangle, but here they get it out of the way by the end of the first chapter.
If you read the first chapter, and have read more than 1 slice of life romcom in a high school setting, than you already should know how this manga will end. Maybe the story in between will be good enough to carry it.

For the description and name of the series: The name "Luthi" doesn't sound Finnish at all, it'd be Luhti if anything, and regardless her name is most likely Ryti. The series title also uses 北欧/hokuou, which refers to the Nordic countries, not Scandinavia, and Finland isn't a part of Scandinavia anyway. So "Nordic" would be better.

True, I was also thinking about it and found out it can be right if she is from the most northern top of Finland because that is part of the Scandinavian Peninsula.

Its also right right if they just used Scandinavia as the catch-all/synonym for the "Nordics" which is common in the English language, which would work if they didn't clarify that she is Finnish...

Nordic instead of Scandinavia let's go!

Yes, and?

Edit: Well, only kinda sorta really, she hasn't actually been portrayed like a Finn. I mean for chrissakes, she's voluntarily TALKING to people!
Reminds me of the manga about the italian girl that:
  • Had silver hair
  • Did not use excessive gestures
  • Ate sphaghetti with ketchup
  • And other things that showed the mangaka had not done any research on italy

Yeah, and there are even well known webcomics to reference on how to be a Finn.

Dime a dozen, seen it once seen it all. I just don't get the whole ethnic thing. If you're not gonna do anything new or interesting with it, why bother? It's the same "Look at this blonde anime girl who's drawn the same as everybody else and acts the same too". Kudos for the childhood friend angle at least? Usually it ends up being either A. The heroine is actually the long lost childhood friend in disguise! or B. The childhood friend is a mid-story ass pull to add needless drama despite everybody knowing how it'll go.

ah you see, there's actually a lore reason behind that: it's precisely BECAUSE she did these things that she was deemed to not be a true italian, and was exiled to japan as a result - if she HAD acted like a true italian, she would've never been kicked out of italy, and the manga wouldn't have happened.

I hope this story doesn't spend too much on the time before they tie the engagement. It's sweet yeah but i want engagement shenanigans.

Monster's author made a fool out of himself portraying Europeans and most everything. I know it's supposed to be a master piece and I couldn't help but cringe every time a European character had some Japanese trait. Maybe it was because I was younger and couldn't distract myself from those things but completely ruined it for me.
