Isn't that Sokola?
Slavery was never eliminated. It's still an ongoing thing even now. Also, rich bringing up "Christian morality" when there are very specific guidelines how to beat up your slaves in that book.Slavery existed for most of the entirety of human civilization. It was seen as normal, in many countries particular religions and beliefs still justify slavery. Only one empire worked to eliminate slavery at great cost. Under the tenets that underpin the morality of Christianity specifically, and under the Magna Carta, the British Empire and its colonies worked to eliminate slavery from society, something that had never been attempted or accomplished before, at great personal cost. Slavery, and the current revulsion towards it, would never have been eliminated if it weren't for British Colonialism and the spread of Christian morality. It is not at all surprising for people who don't value Christianity and British Empire to not have the same revulsion towards slavery, or even forced/indentured servitude. Merry Christmas!
I guess as opposed to Africans enslaving other Africans that's ongoing today?the image of slavery that we all have in our minds is european enslavement of africans. it's the worst form of slavery.

Why does it matter if it was from the Old Testament or New, when Jesus himself said that everything in it still stands? People can't even follow one of the most important figure in their religion. 🤷♂️Yes those guidelines are from the Old Testament to be sure. But despite what the Christian bible says, people interpreted the words particularly from the New Testament to mean that Slavery is wrong, and tthose people were from Christian western countries.
I'd argue that slavery was defacto eliminated within the British Commonwealth. But yes, it still exists, primarily in Islamic countries.
unironically yes, countless africans dumped into the sea because they were that cheap, worked to death because it's cheaper to buy new slave than to take care of one. and the worst part is they dont feel guilty because of underlaying racism and hatred taught in the bible as the curse of Ham.I guess as opposed to Africans enslaving other Africans that's ongoing today?
also the enslavement of todays africa are backed by western companies anyway, any african leader who wants to change it are overthrown, same thing happen in south america, like banana republic.
that's a nice brain, why dont you use it to google it yourself? typical westoid retard

Slavery was removed in a lot of counties mostly from people's empathy, regardless of religion.
You're the one who made a claim. The burden of proof's on you, not me. What's next, you'll claim the earth is flat? That MMR vaccines cause autism? Moon landing was fake?that's a nice brain, why dont you use it to google it yourself? typical westoid retard
Nope. That's not how it works. That part was never up to interpretation, but completely explicitly said by so-called son of God. The one being the religion was based on. Just admit that you're wrong and/or never read the book about the religion you're arguing about. It's more productive that way. What does it matter? People interpret the words differently. That's why there are so many different sects of Christianity.
Nope. Again, not how it works. We advanced as a society so that such as those ideas were able to take root. It's the same with women's suffrage. It wasn't religion who let that happen. That's the neat thing about society: they evolve. The texts don't. Let's turn it around: there are ~1800 years between Christianity's founding to when it was abolished in one specific part of the world. Then it's suddenly thanks to the religion? Yeah, ok.Slavery wasn't removed because of people's empathy. That doesn't even logically follow. Most of human history has slavery but all of a sudden people became empathetic and said no more. Yeah ok.
