I always find it nice when a supposedly almost 6 year old (Momo) actually acts like one (being a total brat) instead of just being a tiny adult like in most manga. Though of course then everything gets happily resolved because this is that kind of manga.

Next chapter: All Mama!

Never would have thought to see a cooling manga advocating for eating acorns of all things, but I guess you learn something new every day

Hmm, what are the odds Mama's gonna take an unfortunate tumble right on top of Papa? :lul:

Yeah. Acorns are very tasty when baked into biscuits and cookies. Eaten as is though, the nut is very bitter and our digestive system won't like it. But I guess these characters can because they're like animals maybe?
Anyway, the preparation is way more time consuming than the manga made it look like. One needs to boil them thoroughly, more than once, to remove the tannins and the bitterness. Then drying them can take days, before grinding them.
The manga smooshed them while wet before drying the paste which can make it dry faster. This still make the process very tedious.

Spoken from experience.

I suspected that if Gonta-sensei even made these he just started out with already ground acorn flour, which you can buy at places like our hippie health food store and already has the tedious stuff done. If only for acorns being seasonal. Good to know that it's even more a pain in the ass than the manga suggests, thanks!

So that's how that lotto works. I kept seeing it in anime and manga but never bothered to google it.
Today I learned something.

Yaaaay! A couple people get pissy about end notes in scanslator forums, but the hope is for readers to learn things they would never have learned from their own culture. I'm always glad to hear when it actually works!

I personally appreciate concise and thoughtful end notes, and I've always found yours (and crew) to be right in the comfort zone. Much better than sprinkling them in the margins throughout.
